BEWARE of bridesclub dot com

Hi- ladies I'm a lil new to the seattle board, I'm usually on the south Florida board alot, it's where our wedding is going to be in 2010 april. My name is marjorie. HI all!So anyways the reason for the post.. Girls- Seriously stay the heck away from the website, bridesclub dot com.. I signed up for it a week ago,to get a coupon for a Tacoma bridal show/expo. ANd now i'm getting all of these ridiculous phone calls and Bogus scams calls. Save yourself the drama, seriously it's not worth it on top of wedding planning. I've looked up 2 of the companies that have called me already and #1 I couldn't even get a listing for them in Tukwila, where they said they are (VI PASSPORTS), and they are also listed on a 800- scam website. #2 the other one royal prestige, was listed as scamming a couple out $1200.. Beware of this site, I really don't want any one else to have to deal with unwanted phone calls, if they don't have to. And i didn't even go to the expo and I'm getting all of this. HTH if it saves even just one of you ladies, I'll feel better... Cause I didn't know.. Marjorie

Just a little more consumer advice - 1) don't give out your phone number!  In most cases, you can actually get away with declining to give a website or vendor at an expo your number in lieu of giving them your email address.  I got a David's Bridal coupon for signing up for an appt. and did not give them my number - just my email.  Which leads me to...2) only give out your "junk mail" email address!  I have to email addresses - one for people I don't know and for online anything, and the other for family and friends.  I only use my junk mail address when signing up for anything like the knot, when buying stuff online, when posting on here, etc.  That way your real email doesn't get flooded with crap from bridesclub.com and all their preferred vendors (btw, you could just as easily switch out bridesclub.com there for the knot...).Happy planning!

I'm so glad that I gave them - and the vendors at the Seattle Wedding Expo - a wedding-only email address. I've gotten tons of email from what seem like shady vendors, plus random spam (apparently someone sold the list). All of that for a really crappy wedding show.
