Cancun or Puerto Vallarta?

Booking our honeymoon is on top of our to do list today. Puerto Vallarta is coming out cheaper for us to fly from Phoenix, also a shorter flight but I am seeing some iffy reviews so wanted to get opinions from ladies who have been to both places. Cancun I think we will enjoy the clear water there. I know this is a great question for the honeymoon board but of course wanted the opinions of the ladies on AAW! So which is better for honeymooning?

  • I haven't been to Puero Vallarta but I have been to Cancun with the hubby and we really enjoyed ourselves. As picky as he is about places he travels to, he said he wouldn't mind going back to Cancun.

    I never tire of it.
  • I would say Puerto Vallarta. Its really nice and less partyish than Cancun. If you're looking for serenity.

<div>I didn't say that cause after google search number 1022 LOL...I realized that maybe that would work. </div><div>
</div><div>We are on the tightest budget with this whole honeymoon situation. We talked about postponing it but I really don't want to. I know how things could just pop up, so I just want to do it and be over with it. And even with my budget I got the nerve to be picky!?!? LOL...</div><div>
</div><div>And yes, I have seen Zoetry...oh if even...as my mom always said you have to play the lottery to win the lottery...</div>

  • Dropping in being nosey....Puerta Vallarta's beaches suck so if you like nice sandy beaches i wouldn't go. Not sure what your budget is but you should try Sun Palace in Cancun. It adults only and they offer you a resort credit that you can use for massages, dinner on the beach etc. depending on how long you stay. With the resort credit it helped offset the price since you wouldn't have to bring spending money. River Maya is also nice, if you guys like night life though it may seem a little slow.

    HTH

This was what I was going to say. I would definitely look into an adults only or all inclusive deal in Cancun.

  • Cancun has so much to do thats why I suggested it. And they are really all about the tourists there. We stayed at the Westin Lagunamar villas which i loved and one other place which sucked. I dont do all inclusive places because I like to roam the streets and eat local fare which usually tastes better

  • 25 minutes in the opposite direction of the cancun strip in Playa Mujeres is a boutique all inclusive resort called The Beloved.  Not McVacationey, nonetheless it's within a cab ride of the strip should you want to go and most other excursion type attractions.  It's also next door to an Excellence Resort, equally highly rated.  Luxurious, quiet, villas stacked on top each other like condos.   Oyster is an unbiased site with tons of pics and comments (on all hotels)
