Poll: Florist

How early did you book? Who did you book? What was your price quote and what does it include? (Loaded question-I know) Did you get a quote online or in person? I'm just overwhelemed when it comes to flowers. Maybe because I across the state so I can't just drop by and have a consultation. TIA!

    1. I think this was our second vendor! Booked almost a year in advance. 2. John at Aria Style. I LOVE him! 3. Just under 9k for all ceremony and reception flowers and decor, including chiviari chair rentals for the reception and white wooden chairs for the ceremony, table linens, chair pads, delivery, set up, tear down, and tax. 4. We met for a consult in person and then he submitted a line item quote online maybe a day later. It was realy quick! I got one other quote and did all of that online using pictures and the quote came in a little higher, but for almost exactly the same flowers and such. So, you can definitely get your point across via email and pictures!

We're not booking a florist. My mom was a florist for about 20 years and will be doing all the flowers. I'm buying bulk ecuadorian roses and garden roses from fiftyflowers.com tomorrow. All my flowers will cost less than $500 - quite a steal!! :)

Melanie offered to do it about a year before the wedding.Melanie offered to do our wedding as a wedding present, so it was at cost. All together there were 3 bouquets, 5 bouts, 5 corsages, 20 centerpieces plus cake table decoration, head table decoration and some for the bathroom it came to $400.We just told here how much we had to work with and she went from there.

We booked about 8 months in advance Kendra, Loves Me Flowers2k - 10 CP (five high, five low), 2 alter arrangement, rose petals for the aisle, my bouquet, 4 BM bouquets, toss bouquet, 11 bouts, 6 corsaiges (sp?) Quote was through email, but we met in person. I think you can definatley do it online through email, though. One thing that helped me is I am not picky. We aren't using a lot of physical flowers and I told Kendra the colors I am using, to use flowers in season, and as long as it looks pretty I am happy :)

I just had my first florist consult last Saturday and my head is still spinning! Who knew flowers could be so involved?

Flowers are so expensive! One of my BMs is nicknamed Martha Stewart because she is WONDERFUL with stuff like that, especially flowers. She actually did all the flowers for another friend's wedding, and she volunteered to do mine before I even asked her to be a bridesmaid. I want mostly dahlias, so I am either going to find a local grower, or just use one of the online companies. I will only have to pay cost & one amazing bridesmaid gift (this is the same BM who lent me her car for two weeks, could I be any luckier?).

oh my price sounds really high, but i still think it was worth it...we had orchids and callas, and the bouquets had so many stems in each, my MOH was sore from carrying both bouquets for 20 mins during the ceremony ;)
