Vendor Reviews (long)

So after all is said and done, I have to say that the wedding was perfect!  I would not have changed one thing!  Well- maybe deciding earlier to change photogs earlier.  Venue- Renton Community Center- A For the price we paid for the venue, I could not be happier.  We had the venue from 1-11 pm.  They had a full kitchen and supplied everything.  We only had to rent champagne glasses and table linens.  Two of my favorite parts to the room were the high ceilings with the wood beams and the wall of mirrors.  My family cleaned everything up which was not really a big deal, they were more than willing to help out.Flowers- Paisly Petals  (Paula Pritchard)- A++Paula was amazing to work with!  On the day of the wedding, she was actually in labor at the hospital.  Paula had arranged for her assitants to deliver the flowers.  Each of the  flowers came labeled.  The centerpieces were beautiful dark purple hydrangeas.  My bouquet was beautiful!I also had purple pomeranders hanging on the patio during the ceremony.  Cake- Jenn's Sweetcakes-A+++  We had an amazing 3 tierd cake!  Our bottom layer was white almond sourcream with a fresh strawberry filling.  The middle tier was chocolate decadence with a choc mousse filling.  The top tier was lemon with raspberry mousse.  I found the design I liked at Celebrity, but was out of my budget.  I took the design to Jen and she made a replica.  Everyone loved the cake!Bridal Salon- David's Bridal (Tacoma)- A Had great service, managed to find jewelry, veil, tiara, bra and crinoline all at the same time.  Got lots of compliments on my dress!Catering- Famous Daves- (Southcenter)- A What can I say?  Everyone loves Famous Dave's.  We had a full staff and a bartender.  When my mom and I went back in April to get a quote, we got a decent quote.  Two weeks before the wedding, DH and I went and gave numbers and finalized the menu.  We manged to get a whole new quote that was much lower than the original one. No complaints here.  The manager Eric was great to work with!DJ- PJ Parsons Presents- PJ is fabulous! A+++ She has a great sense of humor and is easy to work with!  PJ also helped coordinate groomsmen and other guests, worked with caterer, florist and officiant.Officiant- David Reed- I found David through reviews on the Seattle Bio page.  David and his wife Terri are great.  DH and I felt at ease with them upon meeting them the first time.  Terri acted as our coordinator.  Jeweler- Shane Company- DH bought band and the southcenter store, but since they closed, we have dealt with the Lynwood store.  Very nice customer service.   Ordered DH's band from Titanium Kay.  Ring came in very quick, pleased with quality!Photographer-   Greenfield Photography (Anna Lorenz)-F  Do not use this vendor!  DH and I had nothing but problems from the get go in dealing with her.  We kept our hopes up, but in the end were disappointed with our service.  I had the chase her down 2 1/2 months after signing contract to get my copy and a recepit.  Takes forever to get back to you through phone or email.  SHowed up at engagement session with her toddler in towe.  Mind you we were at Ft. Casey.  For those of you who have been there and know the high walk ways, you know this is not the placve for young kids.  She lacked direction in how she wanted us in the pictures, did not dress professional, the list goes on and on.  When we got our e-pics 2 months after taking them, I hated them!  The pictures were too far away, could hardly see our faces, and we were squinting because of the wind blowing in our faces.  Finally we decided to change photographers about one month out from the wedding.  This was the best decision I made in the whole process!  New Photographer- Images and Events (Steve and Scott)  A++++++What can I say, these two guys were amazing!  They were all over the place at the wedding.  Steve was with me and Scott was with DH.  We should get to see our pictures hopefully this week.  I am so excited!!  Steve does very few weddings a year, just so happens too that he is a friend of mine.  I was in his wedding 7 years ago.Hotel- DH and I stayed at the Camlin the night of the wedding.  The hotel was beautiful inside, very old world, beauty.  The only odd thing was that they did not have shampoo, both DH and I forgot ours at home. Thanks for reading, hope you find these useful!  Now to get started on the thank you cards!

Three more vendors I forgot as well.  Hair and make up!Makeup was done by Jilladair Carlson. She is based out of Anacortes and traveled down to the hotel we stayed at the night before.  Jilladair used airbrush make up on all of us.  If needed, she has hairstylists on her team, but I did not use them.  I did use them in May when Jilladiar was the MUA for my SIL's wedding.  They do a great job!  Jilladair is in the works for having her own makeup line go national and she is working with her publicist to get episodes on the Style Network where she will be featured.  She is well worth it!!  My makeup was flawless!!  Everyone kept commenting on it!Hair was by Melissa Walter.  She is a good friend of mine and works in a salon in Puyallup.  Melissa also came to the hotel and did all of our hair.  The Rock- (tacoma)- The place where DH and I had our first date and the location for our RD.  We had a private room and had a great time.  Service was a little slow because the waitress also had other tables to tend to as well.  Overall, though, the food was fabulous! One more thing too on the horrible photorapher, Dh and I filed a claim with the BBB to try and get some of our money back.  She failed to respond to the BBB.  So we will now be moving on to filing a claim with the attorney general.

Trisha,Paisly petals was reasonabe.  She has a$1k minimum on Saturdays during wedding season.  I got a 10% discount from her because when I met with her and was trying to decide who to go with, she found out she was pregnant and due around the wedding.  Needless to say, I forgot to order some flowers and there went my discount, but It was well worth it in opinion.
