Opinions please...

I'm trying to decide between two options regarding ceremony music.

Option 1: Play all ceremony music from a CD...with some of the songs I'm considering listed below:

Seating of Special Guests:
The Prayer - Yolanda Adams & Donny McClurkin
Bridal Party Processional:
I Promise - CeCe WInans
Bridal Processional:
You for Me - Johnny Gill
Unity Cross:
TBD
Recessional:
Close to You - BeBe and CeCe Winans

Option 2: Play some ceremony music from a CD, but have a soloist sing two songs live...

Seating of Special Guests:
TBA
Bridal Party Processional:
SOLOIST TO SING Mmmm...Laura Izibor

Bridal Processional:
SOLOIST TO SING The One You Kept for Me - Maurette Brown Clark
Unity Cross:
SOLOIST TO SING The Lord's Prayer
Recessional:
Close to You - BeBe and CeCe Winans

Note: The soloist is amazing and I have full confidence in her so that's not an issue. I just can't figure out what I want. What do you think?

If she's a good singer I say go for option two. We are doing option one only because I like the songs that I have chosen and I like how the artist sing them and don't think I know anyone who could really do them justice!

Mines is similar to your option 2 other than I have 4 live songs through the ceremony.

I like option 2! Mine is like a mixture of your two options

    Seating of special guest: TBD

    BP entrance: The prayer

Bride entrance: Soloist singing either the one he kept for me or you for me

Communion for the first time as Mr & Mrs: Soloist Lord's Prayer

    Recessional: TBD

If you have someone who is willing to sing and can definitely sing, then I say option #2!  Sounds like a great plan.

I'm voting for option 2.  I'm all about a great singing voice.  Love the song selection BTW.

Okay...thanks for the input. I was totally on the fence, but after listening to the songs again that I'd have the soloist sing, I really hope she is able to do it. I just reached out to her and she is going to give them a listen. I will keep you posted.

I know I'm late, but option 2!! I absolutely loved my soloists and they performed 3 songs live including "The Prayer" and "The One He Kept For Me."

I agree with pp. I like option 2.  If the person can really sing, why not let them.  Your songlist is very similiar to mine as well.
