Sorry that I'm no help. l'll be watching this thread. I'm so confused becasue I've read on here that you don't have to tip vendors that own their own businesses. We want to tip our vendors, most of which own their own business. But I have no idea what's reasonable.

I tipped no one. sorry but weddings are expensive and their fees were high enough.  I had envelopes with everyone's fee.  My wedding planner handed them out during the night.  I didn't carry a purse or wallet because I didn't want to worry about money.

We didn't tip anyone. The photographer owned their business so no need to tip there.  All the others I didn't feel that they did anything more than what their job required.

Got it. I really do not want to tip because 1) This wedding is expensive! 2) I'm already paying the vendors for the required services. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a major etiquette flaw. Thanks!

We didn't necessarily have a percentage.

If the vendor owned the business, we did not tip.

Wedding coordinator: she owned the business, so no cash tip. However we did find out that her favorite restaurant was Outback, so we gave her a $100 gift card to there.

    Photographer's 2nd shooter: $100 cash

Makeup artist: She got an additional $10 from each girl having their makeup done

Bartenders at reception: $50 a piece given at the end of the night

    Maitre D: $200 cash

There were also 2 people that the venue assigned to DH and I. They basically followed us around all night and got us whatever we needed. I foget what the formal name for this position is. But we gave them $100 a piece.

I did tip the wait staff at the my venue.  I gave 590, that covered the bartenders, my ladies in waiting, maitre'd and the servers.  That's the only tip I gave.
