NWR: Dave Ramsey, Clark Howard, Suze Orman....

Have any of you ladies taken any course(s) by the financial gurus? Read some books? Followed their philosophies? How did it go?

FI and I signed up for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace in the Workplace and start the 12 week course next Tuesday. I am so excited because we DEFINITELY need it! I really want to get on better footing for 2010 (and beyond) and EVERYONE who has been through FPU or one of his other programs swears by his advice and said it has changed their life.

I have Suze Orman's book that she gave away on Oprah. The problem is I read that book and it had nothing new that I didn't already know and practice anyway. Dave Ramsey's the same way. Their basic philosophy is about living within your means and saving for a rainy day.

I love me some Clark Howard.  I don't follow Dave Ramsey that well, but I listen to the Clark Howard show as often as I can and visit his website.  This program that you speak of sounds great.  I'll have to check into it.

Dave Ramsey is great! I used the "Debt Snowball" to get debt free! It's a great concept to "Live like no one else, so you can live like no one else!"

I love all three of them. I really think I need to call Suze so she can yell at me. LOL Call me a masochist. LOL!!!!

Kim - I love Dave's motto. It's really time for us to do that so we can do that! ;-)

I have read Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace book, and it is awesome. My parents took the class, and FI and I are planning to take it as well. It is very helpful, and I have heard a lot of success stories about people becoming debt free.
