Change to our venue package???

So the package we purchased at Mandalay Bay came with a violinist AND a pianist.  I got an email from the coordinator over the weekend telling me that they no longer have a violinist and so we would just have the pianist for the ceremony.  She said for the inconvenience, she was giving us a $50 credit towards a floral upgrade.  At first I thought no biggie, but after mulling it over with the Vegas board, I was advised that $50 isn't anywhere near worth the price of the violinist and therefore I should try to negotiate more from the hotel.  What are you ladies thoughts on what I should try for?  Our package comes with one nights stay at the hotel so should I try for an additional night or a room upgrade?  For me the violinist wasn't that big of a deal but I definitely don't want to short change myself either.  TIA

Not trying to sound selfish, but go for more. I don't know about Vegas, but a professional violinist for a NJ wedding is going to cost a few hundred. They can offer you more than $50 credit. If it's not too much to change your travel plans, I would ask for another night on them AND an upgraded room.

But don't mind me...Wink..maybe you should just do the extra night

I agree with PP 50 dollars is not enough, I would ask for an upgraded room with some extra amenity does the hotel offer any spa services?

I knew my sistahs would set me on the right path. Smile.  The hotel sure does have a spa.  I'll have to go take a look at my contract and see what's already included and go from there.  We plan to get there the Thurs before the wedding and the wedding is on Saturday so an extra night would definitely help out a lot.  I'll see what I can conjure up.  Thanks ladies!

I agree with everyone else. Google the going rate and show them your findings. Always negotiate with a price comparison. It is hard to turn you down when you show proof that they are short changing you.

Agree with PP.  I would go for the extra hotel night, but I'm not a big spa person so I may be a little biased.

So I checked with my coordinator and she's now offered me the $50 floral upgrade credit plus a $50 credit on a room.  I'd say that's about fair.
