Attention whore Thursday! Brag about anything going on wedding related or not!
We put down our deposit for our ceremony/reception venue. We are going to the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie (my little home town) simply because I fell in love with the garden. We are going to do a night time ceremony so the entire outdoor area will have candle light, fires in the fireplace/firepit, and twinkling lights on all the pillars/trees/etc (all included). We will have the lights on the top of the gazebo off (just the chandelier on) with green pin lights shining upward. I prefer the ambient glow of the candles/twinkling lights.
It will still be around dusk when guests arrive so they will get to see the pretty gardens and koi ponds around the garden:
Once the ceremony is over, we are moving into the large ballroom for a complete action station food service. Our wedding is at 8ish so a full dinner is a bit much for folks. Instead we are going to be true to FI's love of all things junk food. (Thank you Lord for an adjustable corset in the dress!). We will have mashed potato martinis, mac & cheese bar, mini donuts, sliders... you name it. It will be enough to keep people snacking (or grazing like cattle as my mom calls it) until the wee morning hours.
(Our reception will be black linens with black/white damask runners and clover accents. Flowers will consist of white peonies, green orchids, and french anemones)
