RECEPTION W/O DANCING

Hello ladies,
 I need some alternatives for my reception. We will not have any dancing due to religious views.But we will have our 1st dance. We are a very fun couple with alot of friends that understand our reception choice..BUT I still want it to be fun!..HELP PLS!

I'm thinking you can do like a slide show of pictures over the projector of you and your FI together over the period of you'll relationship as well as when you'll was growing up.  I don't know your crowd but have the photo booth might be a fun way to engaged your crowd as well.

I second PB's suggestions...I went to a wedding with a very interactive photobooth recently and since I don't really like to dance, I loved how engaging it was. Also, interactive food stations might be a good thing or maybe some type of dessert bar (ice cream, candy buffet, S'mores station, etc). How long will your reception be?

If you can make you wedding a daytime event it will decrease the need people will feel to dance. And maybe play classy non-dance music. Like jazz or classical music.

I am having a very small intimate dinner  so we are not having a dance floor either.You can have a jazz band .

Think about cutting down the standard 4 hour reception. What about table games or something like that. Something like your bridal shower games on a less cheesy larger sale. One day a person told us we should have rockband at our wedding, Im actually thinking about it. We have Rockband parties so it is something unique to us. We will have a large church population so it will offer something to those who don't dance.

I have seen some cute weddings on theknot where brides did carnival theme receptions... old fashioned popcorn machine, cotton candy, carnival games, you could even do face painting for kids ( if kids will be there) or rent a farris wheel or rides etc. The possibilities are really endless. I know it sounds kind of cheesy, but search carnival themed wedding receptions on theknot and online and you will be surprised how nice it looks. HTH!
