I think that I read you were from the DC area. Did you decide on another destination because your FI isn't from there?

I know your faith is very important to you and your DH.  Tell us what has been most beneficial to your relationship as it pertains to your spirituality- i.e. praying together, attending church together, pre-marital counseling at church, reading the Bible together, Godly friendships with other couples, etc.  What has had the biggest impact on your relationship and helped it remain strong?

I'm late posting ladies but here goes:

@Ty:  My favorite part was without a doubt all the DIY projects.  It added a personal touch to the wedding and some of the guests were really impressed with some of the items (Table names, aisle runners). I'd also have to say that I enjoyed my hubby's input. He actually had great ideas.

@prettymami: I'm in the military which brings me to the D.C area. However, my husband and I are both originally from San Diego. That's actually where we met and most of our family lives out there.  We knew that there was no where else we wanted to get married.

@ cincy: I would have to say ALL of the above (praying together, attending church together, pre-marital counseling at church, reading the Bible together, Godly friendships with other couples).  God is DEFINITELY at the HEAD of our relationship and He has always been (we actually met in our family church).  What has had the biggest impact on your relationship and helped it remain strong?   I would say the DRAMA. I know that sounds funny but my hubby and I were high school sweethearts. He's a year older and he went to college while I was still in high school and we kind of grew apart.  As we got older there were choices and decisions we made that caused a lot of drama.  We always remained friends but we dated sporadically in college. Honestly I wouldn't even call it dating.  Anyways, we know that if we could get through that STORMY period (periods where we weren't even SPEAKING, etc.) we can get through anything. (Hope that makes sense).

I'm a student in the DC area, and I've been looking for a good church. Do you have any recommendations?

@Lovely:  I currently go to ZIon Church its in Glenarden.  It's pretty cool but DEFINTELY a contemporary church.  Shoot me an email @ necole.reese@gmail.com and let me know exactly what you're looking for and I'm sure I could point you in the right direction.
