In Addition To Chatting On Virtual Knottie Night....

What else are y'all doing?

I'm sitting here watching last week's Oprah with crazy azz Andrew Young and his wife.  They are so crazy.  And I have headache.  I need to take something for it.  Anyways, what y'all doing?

Now I'm watching last week's episode of my soap opera that I recorded on dvr.  Oh!  Dang!  They brought back Brooke.  Cincy, so, you and FI don't live together?  What's you FI's business?  I think you should have Chinese food.

LOL!  No we don't live anywhere near each other.  I live in Atlanta, he lives in Cincinnati.  I'm moving there this summer...

He owns a consulting firm specializing in franchise ownership.  We were discussing an opportunity he has to lead business ownership seminars for graduate students at a university in Cincinnati.

I like your idea - Chinese would be perfect right now....except that means either leaving the house (uh uh, too cold) or ordering delivery (uh uh, too hungry to wait).  I think I'll have to go to one of my fall back meals... PB & J or cereal. LOL

LOL!  Wow!  So you live in GA and FI is in Ohio, huh?  How long have you guys been in a long distance relationship?  The opportunity to do the seminar sounds intriguing.  What do you do for a living?

We've been doing the long distance thing for 8 months.  It's not ideal, but we make it work - we see each other usually once a month, sometimes twice a month if we can.  Since he owns his own business it makes it easier - he can come visit me for long periods of time and still work as long as he has his laptop and his phone.  He was just here for two weeks in February and I'm flying to see him in late March/early April.

I manage marketing for a business unit of The Home Depot - I work in the headquarters here in Atlanta.  What do you do?

Man, I couldn't imagine doing a long distance relationship.  My FI and I live together, but he went home for a couple of days to help his sister move and I'm like having a fit 'cause I miss him so much.  He'll be home tomorrow afternoon though.  I admire couples that can do long distance relationships.  But you don't have long now.  You'll be moving in with him this summer!  Will you be able to transfer your job?  What do I do?  I work at a bullshpit job.  I'm happy to be employed, but I really deserve better.

</div><div>I never thought I'd be in a long distance relationship, but it has worked for us so far b/c we make a point to communicate in a variety of ways every day (phone, email, IM, etc.) and see each other regularly.  Awww, that's so sweet that you miss your FI like that!  When I move there, I'm actually getting an apartment but at least I'll only live two blocks from him!  (We decided we didn't want to live together until we're married.)  </div><div>
</div><div>I can't transfer my job b/c Home Depot doesn't have local marketing jobs, they're all at the headquarters here in ATL.  So I have been looking for new jobs for the past month or so.  I've seen several great opportunities and applied for them, now I'm just waiting to hear back.  </div><div>
</div><div>Sorry to hear about your BS job - you do deserve better!  Are you actively looking for a new gig?

No.  My mom and I was just talking about this very thing tonight.  I have bad headaches every Sunday night, and she was like, your job is stressing you out.  Have you been looking for a new job, and the answer is no.  I tried for a while, but I get so discouraged when I put forth all of this effort to apply for a job and then the employers don't even call to say that they're not offering me the job.  But I need to just get over it and start looking again.  I keep telling myself that I will start looking agan after the wedding, but i really need to start looking now.

Tamtam, with only three month until your wedding it may be a good idea to hold off on the job search until afterwards.  I'm sure you will have a lot of last minute wedding stuff to take care of and you don't need to stress about interviews/offers/etc. during that timeframe.  Good luck with the search once you begin - the blessing is that you have a job now, it's so much easier and less stressful to search for a new job while you're still at the old one!

P.S. I just checked your planning bio - it is awesome!!!!  I'm all excited from looking at some of your ideas!  I seriously think I'm stealing that thank you card idea of the picture of me and FI with the "thank you" and "!" shirts on.  Wink

I'm kinda jealous of all of you women with "lives". I'm in bed waiting for 7am (in Kuwait) to roll around so I can talk to my FI. I always miss him at night and in the morning.Cry

cincy2011 I know how you feel doing the long distant relationship thing!

I'm sitting here readings everyone posts. Thinking how great it is to have a bunch of ladies you can run to and talk about ishh others may criticize you for. And no matter how late it is someone is always there to answer.

Oh and I'm watching the news now in Milwaukee,WI. A younglady 24 and her 2 kids were killed and then the house set on fire.Shortly after her roommate was found dead to. So sadd and brings tears to my eyes.

    Thanks
