Favors...

What are you all doing for them?

I keep changing my vision...at one point I wanted monogrammed cookies or cupcakes in cool flavors and our wedding colors. Now, I want this cool photobooth that I saw at another wedding (www.omgbooth.com)...it was so not your typical booth and it was the highlight of the wedding! It's pricey compared to my other ideas though. FI suggested a video booth to avoid "copying" the idea, but the friend that got married actually called and referred the booth company to me since we swap ideas and vendors all the time anyway. FI doesn't get that our wedding can have the same elements here and there as another one and will still be totally different and totally OURS.

What are you all doing for favors?

I think we're just going to do the candy bar. Reason: The lady at the venue pointed out that people usually leave their favors on the table when it's all over. AND I went to a wedding last month and lo, I left my favor! So at least if we do candy, I know I'll eat it if no one else does.

I loooooove a photo booth.  The video booth is different.  I've never heard of that, but it sounds like fun.  We did wine toppers as our wedding favors, to go with our wine theme.

We did a roaming photo booth. Our photographer took candid and posed shots of people throughout the night and at the end he had an assistant print out copies and frame them for our guests to take home. It was a big hit. Everyone loved getting the pictures of themselves.

Slwbride - the roaming photobooth is a cool idea. My photographer is a really good friend of mine and I will have to ask if he is up for something like that.

Tyboyd & prncsz - the candy bar idea is really cool. I've been discussing something like that with my mom and that is one of the ideas we have in the air.

We have been going through some ideas. One of the current ones we picked up from a wedding my mom and I went to a couple years ago. The couple made a Cd of their favorite love songs and everyone got a cd. We've been thinking of doing that and including all the songs used in the wedding and reception including a few special ones. A friend of mine is a indie recording artist and I wrote a song she might sing at the wedding (FI his noooo clue and she is his fav singer). Also my MOH sings and a guy at her church has a recording studio. She will be singing a song at the wedding and she might be recording it for us. So many ideas going on right now...still really considering, but I will be working on presenting the candy bar idea to my mom.

    We had two favors.

    1) Photo booth- I definitely recommend it. It was a hit at our wedding and we only had it for 2 hours (cocktail hour and part of our dinner- since it was a buffet we thought it would help with killing time). I wish we had booked it all night. It was definitely worth the price and I love looking at the photos from our friends (we got a copy of each photo strip) and family. You'd be surprised at who comes out of the shell with these things.

    2) Cookies in a box- These were a hit as well. I liked them for decor purposes at the table. Our guests liked the extra snack.

Instead of favors, we're making a donation to a charity that is close to our hearts, on behalf of our guests...

We are doing the photo booth and candy bar. Most weddings I go to have the same favors like almonds in tulle, matches with the wedding date, and stuff like that.

I just wanted to do something different
