Venue price?

Hey Ladies!!

What's a good price for a reception venue? The one we both want is 2400 to rent than after our food and beverage for 140 people we come out at 9500. Another place is alot cheaper however we have to get liability insurance and an alcohol license and it's near the beach. Virginia Beach area in August is hectic!!!!

Any suggestions???

    In in Cali and I think that is a great rate for 140 people.  Most places that i checked for ceremony, reception, cocktail hr, food and beverages averaged about $10K and i was getting quotes for 150 guest. I would suggest calling a few other places and see what the average is prior to booking and maybe try to negoitate if you can.

    Yeah, that actually sounds about right.  After gratuity and tax, I think my venue (food included) will be about $13K :(  I'm still trying to find ways to cut the cost!
