Anyone Not taking Honeymoon?

Hey ladies, are any of you not going on a honeymoon? What alternatives have you come up with? FI will be staring a new job just before the wedding and will have 0 vacation hours

Re: Anyone Not taking Honeymoon?

  • i knw of a few ppl getting married and not having a honeymoon, some of them either had a nice weekend away from family and friends at a local hotel or either saved up for one months later..

    Lilypie - H1jI

    Daisypath - MFL5

  • Yeah I know those are the typical alternatives. I guess I'm just really disappointed that we won't get to go as we had originally planned. *sigh*

<div>This! We had talked about getting a hotel room at a nearby resort for a day. Having a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. My MOH did this and they did not go on their honeymoon until year 3. </div>

</div><div>This was my MOH. Life kinda just happened to them after the wedding. I know after the wedding, it was honeymoon or put the money towards renting their 1st place. They got a new place. They did not do anything local or anything. They just had their night of and then started packing. Then moved again their second year. So the third year they went. She talked about being disappointment at first, but they had to do what was best for them. My MOH is a tropper, that's for sure.

  • I planned a local get away for the next day aftet our Fridsy wedding. We went to New Orleans, stayed at Hotel Monteleone and went to Saints FB game on Sunday. Now, the next week, we did go on our minimoon. But let me tell you, you do what you are able to do. Nithing is wrong with postponing a honeymoon. Don't be down about it. You can always plan for your one year anniversary!!! Cha

  • Thanks ladies! I'm feeling much better about the situation now. I genuinely appreciate the encouragement, really means a lot.

We decided to go to a stay-cation 2 weekends after. I'm really looking forward to it. This is where we'll be staying: http://www.hotelsorella-citycentre.com/

  • Girl, this is nice!!! I'm sure you will love it! You don't have to spend a lot of money to spend time with your new hubby! Congrats on your CHECK!!!!
