Holy Homework!

I just received an email from our Officiant with paperwork for my FI and I to fill out. There is a 7 page document for us to fill out together, and then we each have a 4 pager to fill out separately. I had NO idea what the process would be like. It's a good thing because the more she knows about us the more special the ceremony will be. Sometimes I get caught up in all the reception details, but the ceremony is the most important part! =)

    Wow, what does the paperwork include? LIke a test or something? Or just wording choices? That is a LOT of stuff to have to fill out.

    Who's your officiant? Ours has warned us that we'll be getting homework after the 1st of the year...

    I don't think we will have any homework. He didn't tell us anything and I've never heard of that with ours. Lucky me! Although.. I kinda want to do one of those compatability tests. :0)

    @sarack- on the one we fill out together it asks questions about the looks of our wedding and ceremony, who our other vendors, are, family member, etc. It also has several questions about our beliefs, and what we are looking to get out of the ceremony. The ones we fill out separately are more about each other and our relationship, and questions about ourselves too.     I've heard of her - she's supposed to be good from what I recall. Sounds like she really does customize which is nice! :)

    Yes she does customize. My FI and I liked her from the start. She is full of personality which is perfect for us. She works to get to know you and understand your relationship. She really believes in what she does and seems to really care. I'm excited to work with her. =)

    I think that's a good idea though! Yeah, it's 7 pages, but like you said, the more she knows you, the better the ceremony is. I know this is probably a no brainer to everyone, but I learned something when I met with my officiant. She asked us how long the ceremony would be for us and I was like 'how bout 15?' And she said that everyone should be around a half hour cause you're so pumped with adrenaline, you hardly remember your ceremony if it's too short. I thought that was interesting, never thought aobut it before!Sorry such long post, I'm in a chatty mood this morning!

    Ahhh, that's what I thought - that's who we're using as well. I totally agree with you about the personality - that was the first thing we noticed and it was why we hired her! Now I know what we have to look forward to :-)
