Here is what I posted a little over a week ago...


Hey ladies!

There is a new suggestion...

Weekly meet-ups on the boards to encourage all brides to get on and post at the same time once a week. Think of it as a post ‘till you drop kind of thing. Knotties will know that you can get on the board and there will be someone there to answer or chat.

This will give everyone a chance to talk and not have to wait hours for any type of responses.

Not only do I think this will make us more interactive with each other, it may also bring more Knotties (or lurkers) out and want to participate in the convos (posts) as well. New knotties may also be encouraged to jump right in.

It is best for me in the evenings any day...(Pacific Coast Time) but I will be available as needed if a different time works better for you ladies.

Questions? Thoughts? Opinions? Concerns?

Let me know what days and times work best for you.

So I did the STDs with the photo booth but its just not standing out to me...

i just saw them. I really like the first two, maybe it's because of the pic of the sunset peeping through your kiss. I love that shot.

Yeah, magnetstreet was expensive for my taste and I knew I wanted to do the pocketfolds and the "tickets" so it made sense for me to create everything myself. let me tell you though, that i was going crazy and blind after counting millimeter and 100th of inch.

I didn't realy look at many other places so I can't even advise or recommend something. Sorry I am useless. LOL!

But yeah, I love where you went with the STD.

Edit: I just googled coupon codes for magnetstreet and found this one for 15% off. I always google coupons codes before i buy something online, lol. it says 75% chance it  works. You got nothing to loose.

Girl let me tell you...I always google for coupons too...LOL!

I would love to do things myself BUT at the same time, I have no clue how in the world to do magnets so that may be something that I order. VistaPrint has magnets...I may be able to upload the design I have...not too sure...so we will see...it might all end up being the same price for all I know...

I LOVE the sunset shot too...we are leaning more towards the 1st one though...so we will see...

We wont be ordering them until we have our venue booked...thats for sure...LOL!

Vistaprint might be cheaper, that's what i used and it cost me $2.48 (I had a free shipping code and a 50% off the upload fee code)

You have time and i do agree that you should settle everything with the venue and lock it down before moving forward with the STD. At least you'll be ready with all the info and ready to order....

So it looks like they are about the same price...SUCKS!

Oh well...it is what it is...I would have to resize my image to fit 300DPI or something like that so I may feel better just prdering from Magnet Street...

I will see what other sites are out there but I may just go with what I started off with...ya know?

No they are not the same price at all. The whole order cost me $2.48 for 50 large (but remember I had 2 STDs per magnets and I cut them in half and had 100 of magnetstreet style magnets) magnets including all fees and shipping.

Magnetstreet is about $1.19 per magnets plus adding the shipping I forgot how much it was.

But the total for magnet street was close to $140 vs. DIY and vistaprint total of $2.48

I hope that makes sense. Sorry!

Ok...so I am looking at your blog to see if there is any information on the STDs and I see some pages from your wedding website and I LOVE it...its so unique and elegant...

How did you create this site?

I am IN LOVE with it...

I would prefer something like that instead of the one that I am using now.

Let me precede this by saying I am not a good "teacher" and do not know how to give proper instructions.

So as far as the STDs go, I looked at the strip from Magnetstreet and tried to duplicate it. I used photoshop and I had to play around with the sizes of the pictures and borders to fit the Vistaprint requirements for large magnets. Major PITA!! I had 2 copies of the design side by side with a line in the middle so I knew where to cut...
 
I then waited for the right vistaprint coupons (I got the free shipping code and the 50% off upload fee code) 
Vistaprint also usually has 20 large magnets (which I used) for free or 100 small magnets (which I first used but Fi thought they were too blah) for free. 

VistaPrint also charges you only once for upload (unless you upload a different image)

So i uploaded my design and used the upload coupon code and free shipping code- that was total $2.48
I then went through another completely seperate purchase for another 20 magnets using the same design and using the free shipping code. total $0
And then one last purchase for 20 magnets total $0

You have to complete the purchases separately or it will aggregate the magnets in your baskets and you loose the 20 free magnets offer. So extra step but i guess you got to work for "free". LOL

It took exactly 21 days for shipping, but I am not complaining. It was free. I got them and used my paper cutter to cut the magnets in half.

Sorry the picture quality is not good... But like i said on the blog, in comparison, the length is a little bit smaller than the one on magnetstreet and the width is a little bigger, but only by a couple 1/10th of inches

So give it a shot. If you start working on these after I am done working on my invites, I can do help you/do them for you /do them together/whatever....

LOL thanks for the website comment girlie. Come to Philly on May 30th.
I designed the website myself (with critics from Fi of course) and one of our groomsmen. I am a geek and got nothing better to do but it took me way too long to do it. i really like our epics and decided to do a photo website instead of a regular website.

The STDs that I was thinking about are 3 1/2 x 4...

I got a free thing earlier but it was only for 10 Large Magnets...how do you end up getting more?

Also, it is telling me that I need to resize the image...

I dont have Illustrator or Photoshop so am I out of luck?!?

What do I do???

Its sooooooooooooooooooooo much better than these premade ones...you have me considering doing our own website but I have NO IDEA where to start...

That's a pretty nice size for the magnets. I will look at the vistaprint requirements tonight and let you know what to do.
