When was your "OMG I'm getting married moment?"

I haven't felt like much of a bride until I went to check out a bakery yesterday, and as I sat surrounded by other brides and multi tier display cakes, I just has this really surreal moment of "wow, I'm actually getting married".  Up until that point, I kind of just was gonig through the motions.  Now it just feels so much more real.Anyone else have this ah ha moment?  Please share!

Mine was when we purchased my wedding dress and booked the venue. They come and go. Right now I just feel like someone planning a big expensive party :)

Ditto karebear - big expensive party mostly (and I'm ok with that). However, when I cried listening to a song for the first time that I now must have in the ceremony (even the next 2 times I listened to it!), I definitely had an a ha moment.Oh, and when I was trying on wedding dresses with my mom and they put a veil on me the first time - oooooh, weird!

Ditto PPs that most of the time it feels like a big, expensive party. I get them in little moments that last a day or two: the first time I tried on dresses (and the last time when it was 'the' dress), the first time FI and I went to look at a venue together. Oh, so maybe that's only 3 after the initial engagement excitement wore off. :( I need more of those! This month I'm supposed to be making appointments with florists and cake-ists, so maybe those will spawn more.

I had one the night before the wedding when my bridesmaids, my mom, and I stayed at the hotel and went out to dinner. I totally had a mini breakdown at the table and started crying. I think since everything was done and all of the planning and preparing was over with, I finally had a moment to relax. That is when hit me that it was really happening...I was getting married the next day!

My first came two weeks ago when I was trying on wedding gowns and found the perfect one. also when I finally found the Venue and the Event Manager has put it on hold for me until I pay the 1000 and sign the contract I want to get my FI over there and see it. That he can be ok with that I want this place for our Wedding & Ceremony.

I've had a couple. But day to day it doesn't seem real. When I tried on dresses i was like.. omg, i'm getting married, i can buy this dress! But usually it doesn't feel real. :0)

So far it was getting a message saying the ring was ready. Definitely had the "okay, Nick, you said to yourself you were sure about this, now you better mean it!" moment. Of course  I did but it's still a "wow, this is happening!" experience.

Pretty sure mine was last Friday and the post title was "Ahhhhh!"  Hopefully it'll be that last one but I'm sure it won't!  Although getting a knot in my stomach sucked it's kind of fun because - well, weddings are awesome!  :)

I haven't really had one that I can think of! I mean, trying on the dress, going to a Sip and Scan at Macy's last wednesday, buying rings on Sat. I knew this was for my wedding, but I wasn't like OMG! In fact people keep asking me 'aren't you excited!' and I keep telling them yes, but I guess I'm not showing it enough! Ha! I know i'll have one when it's closer. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was during invitation time as well. Or the Bridal Shower. Something that's a big event with other people to share it with.

I had several moments.  The first that I remember was when we booked our venue, then when we picked out our cake.  Another time was when invitations were going out, that just seemed crazy, that this was really going to happen.  My first bridal shower was definately an experience, everyone pampering you.  Prepping for the rehearsal and running all the last minute errands the day before.  My last OMG moment was sitting in the chair at the hotel with my hair and make up all done.   I am so glad I had the night before with my BMs, Dh's mom and my mom to just hang out and relax.  This helped ease my anxiety and nervousness about the next day.

Oooh, what is Sip & Scan? I don't know if I've had my moment yet, but I know I was really weirded out that I was actually wearing a wedding dress when I first tried on dresses. Mostly it's just been a surreal out of body experience where I go through the motions but don't really realize what it all means. Then there's nights where I'm sitting on the couch & thinking "gah, I just can't wait to be married to FI!"

My OMG's come and go, but the most memorable is about a week ago when I had a horrible feeling that FI needed to go to the jewlery store to try his ring on again (we ordered it a year ago.) Thank goodness I insisted because his ring is about a size too big now... easy fix... but seeing his ring on his finger was my OMG he's MINE moment. :)

This sounds terrible, but it wasn't until I had walked up the aisle and Dad handed me off. I clutched Shawn's hands and I thought to myself..," Oh Holy Sh!t!!!" Swear to goodness. That was the first thing that came to mind. Not about how much I loved this man, not at how happy my guests looked for me. Just a big ol swear word inducing, "Agh, I'm getting married."

**JennyAnn~   Macy's holds a thing called sip and scan's where you are totally catered to! And you walk around their home store, we did the one in Bell Square, and there's free food, drinks, a cake taster, other people trying to get your business for your wedding. It was a lot of fun and they gave us a couple free gifts! A really nice bag and two wine glasses! Yay! I don't know when the next one is, but I'm very sure they'll have another. If I find one, I'll post it for you guys! But they advertise it on Macy's webpage.
