Got his ring...but it is too small!

So, I bought the man's ring-in a size 13 which he said his fingers were, and it doesn't fit! Well, it goes on but it cuts off circulation. I have 90 days to return it but have another dilema. We are a little over a year and a half out so we still have plenty of time to get a new one but we are also both doing WW so I don't want to return it, then his fingers shrink (we have been doing WW for 3 weeks together-he has lost 12.6 and me 10.2-whoo hoo!). So, my question is: should I send it back now? Should I hold out for a month to see if his fingers shrink? Or should I hold out till the wedding and see if his fingers shrink in a year and a half?

I'd wait until you have to send it back (the 90 days). If it fits by then, keep it. Otherwise just return it now and wait until the wedding gets closer to buy a ring.

Why can't you just get it resized? That's what I did with my engagement ring. When I got it, it was to big and I got it resized almost a whole size smaller! I just took it to Fred Meyer's, their jewelry department does it there.

Thanks guys. They can't resize it because it is Tungsten. They would have to give him a whole new ring. I probably should have waited to buy it until it was closer..but it was the one he actually liked and was $800 less than the one he thought was just okay so I didn't want to miss out on the deal or giving him what he wanted.

Yes and it was 100 bucks for a tungsten ring. Seblagg also bought his there. The reviews are fantastic (check wedding wire) and I had no problems. I believe Seblag had to return his for another size and had no problems at all. They also do engraving on tungsten.

Ditto Koosh. I've heard lots of positive reviews of TitaniumKay. Also, I would wait to buy closer to the wedding if you anticipate a significant weight loss could change his ring size.

I would also say return it and buy from Titaniumkay also. Everyone raves about them, they have great customer service fromwhat I hear and the prices can't be beat. I would buy his ring when you guys are a few months out from the wedding.

I"d wait this one out for almost the 90 days, then when you get there you can see if you need to get on smaller or if that one ends up working.

Is there a warranty on the ring that covers resizing? I was talking to a jeweler a few weeks ago that mentioned most titanium rings come with a warranty that will cover resizing - you need to give the ring up while they make a replacement, but they'll do it. If it does, I'd hang on to it and check the size again a few months before the wedding. If not, I'd return it and buy closer to the wedding.

Congrats on the weight loss!  With tungsten it is important to make sure you have a good return/exchange policy in case you need to resize.  This is another great tungsten dealer that will make it all easy.  They have lifetime sizing and lifetime warranties.  http://www.tungstenworld.com/sizing/
