RSVP question.....

My RSVP deadline is this Friday. I still have a large number of RSVP's out and its driving me crazy! All the work is pretty much done all they have to do is check a box, seal the envelope, and drop it in a mailbox. Am I suppose to just assume your coming to my wedding if you didn't RSVP, call, or email me! Ok so that was a vent

Question is should I call these ppl to find out if they are coming? I really don't want to call anyone since its such a simple task but my grandma said I should because its proper etiquette. I just don't want to pay for all these ppl who may not come. What do you think ladies?

I am with you!!!  Our RSVP deadline is tomorrow and our guests only had to place initials where indicated and drop the postcard in the mail!! No envelope, no fuss.  Anywho, what ticks me off is I sent two reminder texts to some folks and still nothing.  The worst part, some of the RSVPs missing are from members of the wedding party!  Seriously?  Anyway, FI and I are calling those who apparently do not understand simple etiquette.  So, my answer is to call them and, unfortunately, suck up the postage that went to waste on there RSVP cards.

I also have rsvp's missing from wedding party members! Their answer was they thought they didn't have to send it back because I know they will be there.... which is true but I don't know if your planning to bring a date! Its all just crazy, I'm going to give them until the 15th before I start with the phone calls.

Unfortunately, I think the right thing to do is follow up with phone calls.  Which is so counterproductive since I know you all put a lot of work into the RSVP cards to make them easy to understand, easy to send in, etc.  Oh well, people are weird.  I don't know why they can't complete simple tasks.

Some members of our wedding party just went with we knew they woulkd be there...I guess they also thought we would use our Jedi mind power to know which entree they would prefer....IDK...again, we're calling, but not happy...

I assigned that task to my mother & DH's mother. They split up the guest list & called everyone the week after our RSVPs were due. It is a pain in the a$$ but ABSOLUTELY worth it. Because as I always say, "If they're ghetto enough to not RSVP, then they're ghetto enough to just show up".

You can't assume that they aren't coming, but you also can't assume they are. The only way to know is to call.

i'm going to call maybe a week after my RSVP date.  my wedding is smal. but i need to make sure because our venue is FI's cousin's backyard and if only 65 of the 85 come, that will make for a little more room.  i don't feel like folk just showing up.
