Yay for honeymoons!

Now that we have the date change, I can actually take time off, and we have an extra 4 months to save, we have decided to go on a real honeymoon. Goodbye backpacking excursion, hello Cancun. Anyone else going there or have been? I am looking for inexpensive places to stay, not so cheap that that there are cockroaches, but reasonably priced.

I've been, but we stayed at a timeshare away from the hotel zone. Love it there! If you stay at a hotel along the beach, I recommend one that's across from Isla Murjeres - the island sort of protects that part of the beach/shore and the waves are MUCH calmer and water is nicer, IMO. My MOH and I walked pretty much along the entire beach except the corner part where there really isn't a beach) so we saw plenty of the different quality of beaches. Here's a map. If there's a break in the code, just remove the http://www.cancun-map.com/map_cancunzh_ing.asp

Hello!!! I have been to mexico twice in the last 3 years :) we stay in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.. which is roughly 45 mins outside of cancun airport :) It is soooooooooooo BEAUTIFUL :) Each hotel has their own beach and its so nice not to have people coming up to you asking you to buy things when you are trying to relax and tan on the beach...  :) if you want to relax either at the swim up bar or pool side or even at the beach I would check out Playa Del Carmen All-Inclusive Hotels....  I would suggest staying near 5th Ave its a great shopping area and fun places to eat. And the taxi is like 3 dollars... :) I would stay in Playa del carmen again, probably every time I go to mexico....... If you want to do anything why you are there I HIGHLY suggest doing the dolphin swim!! most amazing thing I have EVER done! :) I'll put some photos up of my Mexico trip on my site... let me know if you have any questions or anything!!! I love going to Mexico so :) Hope this helps :) -Rachael
