Attire for friend who marrys you?

Hi Ladies, We are having a friend marry us, and I didn't realize until now that we need to tell him what to wear! FI said a tux, which makes sense, but I wonder if that would look strange at the alter as he will also be in a tux (maybe it will look like I have two grooms?!?!). Maybe I should have him wear another color (like tan?) My BM will be in black cocktail dresses and the GM will be in black tuxes. We are getting married outside (under a tent) in July. Your suggestions are greatly apprecaited!!

    I would say a suit is more than acceptable.

    A suit he owns. I don't think anyone cares what the marryin' dude looks like. As long as the suit isn't from the 80s you are fine...

    If you are worried, I'd ask the friend to see his best suit. If it would really irritate you, you can suggest the place your guys are getting their suits/tuxes. I agree though, as long as the suit isn't too tight/too dated (i imagine powder blue highwaters) they should be fine.

    We are having a friend marry us and he is wearing what the groomsmen wear except his bout is pink instead of green (he has a weird love for pink)!

    FI's uncle is marrying us, and he will be dressed the same as the GM's...he is considered part of our wedding party. :)

    If your FI is in a tux and all the GM in tuxes, then I would have the friend in a tux, especially since the girls are in black cocktail dresses. He might feel a little more out of place in a suit, although that would be the second choice.

    A nice Suit should be quite acceptable. The officiant does not need to go that formal.
