I had the genius idea to cut my own card stock for my invitations and mat paper instead of paying Cards and Pockets for paper. {Especially since I'd already decided not to pay them to do my 2x2 monograms.} It also didn't help that I could NOT find ribbon to match my mat paper for the inside of my invitations! With that said, I went to O-K Paper today and found a lime green card stock that FI and I liked. We bought it for $13 for a pack of 250 sheets. CHECK!
I left O-K Paper and went to Hobby Lobby to find ribbon... AGAIN! This time, I found ribbon that matched my paper!!! AND ribbon is still 50% off. I bought 3 rolls, regularly $3.99. Then I went to find some other colored card stock and we saw the letters that we wanted to decorate and display on the cake table. It's our last name. They now have the letters for $0.99 each! So, we spent about $10 at Hobby Lobby. CHECK!
I'm going to see if O-K has an ivory colored paper that I like for the actual invitation, RSVP cards, programs, and whatever else I may need it for. I'm still buying the folds and envelopes from CP.
OH YEAH, we also went to a printing place that the paper place referred us to. It's AA owned and operated, which I was automatically attracted to. We're going to have them to do some NWR things for us. But FI asked the owner how much they would charge to cut my paper for me instead of me doing it. He told me to just bring it in and he'd take care of it! I also plan to do all my printing/copying there! CHECK!
Overall, I've had a very productive day. I'm saving myself about $100 in paper from CP. Now, if I can just find somewhere with the pretty European envelopes that I'm going to purchase from CP. Oh and I guess I should mail out my STDs!!! LOL!
