RSVP questions....

1. How are your names presented on the return address for your RSVPS? First names only? First and last name? Just address?

2. We are doing ________ seats have been reserved in your honor. So which choices makes sense that are listed below? I'm just wondering if I say 4 seats but only 2 ppl are accepting how will I know? Do I trust them to just write the names in because I know some people are getting back RSVPs that just check the accept and put no names. I  just want to make it clear.

Ex1

M___________________________

___ Seats have been reserved in your honor
          ____________   Number attending
          ____________    Declines with regret

Ex2

M___________________________

___ Seats have been reserved in your honor
          ____________   Accepts with pleasure
          ____________    Declines with regret

3. Do I put the M_______________ after saying how many seats or tell them how many seats and then ask for names.

***It's after midnight and I have to be at work at 6:30a....I'm overthinking everything!!!

Indicate the invited guests who will be attending:
    M__________
    M_________
    M__________

    I would do ex 1
    with the m___________

    ON THE RSVP envelope...

  • Man!! I already printed my RSVP cards and I now like what you all are doing.  Oh well.  Mine is example 2  with out the name line BTW.  I'm identifying them in another way so I will always know who's card I'm getting.

  • As for your first question. We put both our first names on the RSVP return envelop. I know it's common to only put the brides name (first and last).

As for how the RSVP card is worded we did the following:

M_______________________________(have them fill in the blank)

    ___Will attend
    ___Is not able to attend
    ___Total number attending

I think no matter what you do, folks will act a fool. My cousin wrote in the number of seats reserved for guests, and folks still crossed it out and wrote in what they wanted. So just do whatever you think is best and be prepared to make some phone calls.

  • I put my name on the return envelope and we did :

    M_______________________________

_______ Seat(s) have been reserved for you

    _______  Attending

    _______  Not attending

To reserve your seat, you may also call the response line at 901-xxx-xxxx

    * I wrote in how many seats were reserved for each guest BTW.  And I coded each card on the back to correspond the card with the guest name on the excel spreadsheet so that I would know whose card it was in case they didn't write their name on it.

  • I like TCJames response cards. If you put the guest's name then they know you mean business and are less likely to add others.

I put address labels on the envelope which had both my & FI's names.  My  rsvp card was very simialr to your example 1:

M__________________ (I filled in the name)
One seat has been reseved in your honour.

    ___ Accepts with pleasure
    ___ Declines with regret

**And for those who could bring a guest and/or have a significant other:

M_________________  (I filled in the names)

    ____ Accepts with pleasure
    ____ Declines with regret
    ____ Number attending

This way guest know exactly who's invited and I know for sure how many will come.
