I'm working on our drink menu and I'm quickly realizing I don't drink enough. j/k ;)We are allowed 3 cocktails, we will have one martini in our plum color, other than that I have no clue?Do you have any suggestions for 2 other "universal" cocktails that most people will like?TIA!

Hmm... well you already have something vodka based so many something rum based? I can't think of a really good rum drink at the moment though. You could also do a champaign cocktail. That would be really yummy. Sorry I am not good on specifics. I usually dring vodka tonic.

Have you thought about doing a pomegranate drink for your purple? I had a Poma-kazi a couple weeks ago and it was awesome! Here's a recipe for Oprah's Pomegranate Martini: Ingredients:Serves 2 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice 2 ounces Absolute Citron vodka or white tequila 1 ounce Cointreau liquor Cup of ice Splash of sparkling water (optional) Squeeze of lemon (optional) Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish. Also, for rum, you could do mojitos. It'd be a total switch from the pom-tini. And then, if it were me, the third would be a scratch margarita. It's a margarita made from juice instead of margarita mix, and they're delish.

I second the vote for a champagne cocktail.  For your third, I'd go with something rum-based - some kind of daiquiri or "punch".

You need to find out if you have any whiskey drinkers. If so, you should have a Jack n Coke. Really simple and cheap on your budget. Margarita's are coolI'm chopping Martini's from our bar. They're 10 bucks a pop! Ouch!Bloody Mary's have great color and so do their veggies, there's Mojito's, Hot chocolate and Bailey's for something comfy and warm...... I prefer Vodka and Red Bull or any energy drink for that matter, but that's not very weddingish. And you can look up drinks that have Amareto in it for a red tint. I don't know what your wedding colors are, but I'm trying!!

Your wedding is January if I'm doing the math on your ticker right - what about hot buttered rum? Tasty, rum based, and warming from the cold.

I was at an event recently and they had margaritas and strawberry daquiris (sp). Everyone had a drink in their hands. I think they had universal appeal.

Gin & tonics are pretty popular with the older generations.  Its my dad's drink of choice.  Can't go wrong with a classic margarita.Hot hard apple cider is another warming drink option as well. You can make it hard with apple brandy.

Something warm would definatly be good. Like a hot hard cider or hot chocolate with baileys or peppermint liquor.

Good ideas! Thanks girls. I knew you could help. I was really stuck. I think we will go with a Rum drink and something warm since it's a Winter wedding. =)
