Flowers!!

How many of your guys are doing fake floral vs real?? I've been pricing both and they cost about the same??

I want pretty flowers that don't look cheap but the idea of paying the same when I can just purchase the real ones don't make sense to me....any thoughts ladies?? Or any reccommendations

I say if you can afford real go with real. However, I do think it's a waste to purchase flowers that will eventually die as well, so I think it is up to you. When everything is done, you probably won't have anywhere to put all those silk flowers.

I am not really doing florals since I am having a DW without a formal reception. My bouquet is a brooch bouquet, so no flowers needed for that.

I am going with the real touch silk flowers. I have heard nothing but great things about them. I am going very simple for my bouquet and my girls bouquets so that might make a difference. I just like the thought that I will be able to keep my bouquet forever.

check out www.afloral.com they have great stuff.

I went with fake flowers for our WP floral. It was just cheaper for us and they turned out great. They were one of my first DIY projects. And my nieces ended up keeping the bouquets when the wedding was over. There are pics in my bio.

Like djscat mentioned afloral.com has really good ones. I purchased mine from Michael's & Hobby Lobby.

I originally intended on doing silk flowers, but the cost wasn't adding up to me for the look I wanted. I plan on preserving my bouquet and placing it in a frame after the weddng.

I'm allergic to flowers so fake was the only way to go. It's funny because I was worried they looked fake and was playing around with them when MIL stop by she thought they we're real and DH had sent them as a gift..

I'm doing half and half for my centerpieces. Half will be real but the submersible centerpieces will be "real touch calla lilies" from afloral.com. No one will notice or be able to tell or touch flowers that are submerged in water :-)

We are doing real. they were around the same price as the fake one and then we will be delivering the flowers to the hospital the day after the wedding or to a nursing home. So they will serve a dual purpose beauty for the wedding and brighten someone's day.

I am having mine done by Angel's Accents. They are all Real Touch.

I didn't price real flowers, so I'm not sure about the price comparison. I am doing real touch because I like them.

My BFF has been a florist since we were in high school. Tht said, she would not hear of anything but the real thing. She was going to do them for the price of her supplies (wholesale). One of FI friends offered to pay the florist bill, so that cost is now a gift in its entirety. We have access to real flowers at great prices this time of year so no need to consider alternatives. If I were getting married in December/January, then I would consider because all of the growers have a huge decrease in inventory in order to supply flowers for the Rose Parade. Whatever they have available for retail is sold at a premium that time of year.

Great minds think alike! I'm doing the same idea for my reception!!! I used the same submersible idea for a couple weddings that I did.

I'm have a floral business so I'm doing all of the florals myself. I work with majority real flowers, and was planning on doing that for everything, but I needed to cut my budget for the flowers a bit!. Seeing that I'm going to my wholesaler.. I'm doing certain pieces (reception centerpieces, and altar pieces) with real touch silk flowers and some (personal flowers & pew decoration) real.

I cut my budget down about $150!

I really recommend taking a look at www.save-on-crafts.com if you're looking into silk/fake flowers.
