Hey.,.... Got a question.... I thought you said you were a wedding planner... Soooo I just am curious what you would suggest with an insuite reception... We want to have a nice casual relaxed reception.. with a Football-ey theme... What type of things have you seen or done with your previous brides???

I just want an expert opinion.... I sooo appreciate it!!!

Hey my dear!

The majority of my brides are very traditional brides, so I haven't done insuite reception....however, that doesn't mean I can't give you ideas. So, because I'm all classic (simple, chic, with a touch of glam ) kinda gal......when you threw in football theme....all I could think of what a Super Bowl party (maybe I'm clouded bc the Falcons are going ALL THE WAY). HA! I digress on that. ANYWAY for about how many people?

I would scratch any idea of assigned tables / seating, but you could still name the tables in lieu of table numbers. Each table could be a team or you could do specific years and then at each place setting have a fun football fact that took place in that year

I wouldn't decorate with specific team 'nalia. But, you could incorporate your fave team colors in the decor.

Definately a football cake (or some type of dessert....cupcakes w/ team flags, cookies shaped and iced like footballs.

For food I wouldn't do a full out dinner. I would do small plates, tapas style. Sliders, buffalo wings, fries, chips n dip, footbally type stuff.

That's all I can grab at 6am....I'll keep brainstorming for you.

That is much appreciated.. I wasnt sure whether or not to have tables where people sit and eat..





  I know there will be tables for the buffet style food.. and the hotel offers a mashed potato bar which I soooo want to do.. and food I am still trying to decide on the type of food..

I like the idea of football facts.. I didnt plan to have it streamered out like a football party or anything.. But I want to have some football things around the suite..


 
(NOT THIS TEAM...just an example)

I plan to have the bartender and dj wear referee shirts (just thought of that).. and then I thought of when we come into the suite and are introduced.. to have an NFL gameday theme playing..  my wedding favors (nfl winestoppers)




I want to have cupcakes.. so I am trying to figure out how to do all of that.. and I want to have different sweets.. so I have to figure that out.. different flavored cupcakes.. but some that look like popcorn boxes

ohhhh yeah... Im ignoring that Falcons comment!!! we will see at week 17

I think it would be nice to have some table seating as well as regular seating. I have been a WP since 07. It is much harder doing for myself than my clients.

I still have been trying to decide on the tables...

I understand being harder for yourself...

not being funny... you had me curious... we all come on here and ask for advice and suggestions.. you know... then I saw that you were a wedding planner.. and it had me confused.. I got confused... lol... not being smart or anything... I guess I just imagined that all wedding planners knew all the wedding ins and outs.. you know... But I guess it has to be harder to do for yourself... since you have seen everything..

LOL funny you say that. I thought the same thing! LOL Like oh this will be a piece of cake. NOT! LOL It's different when its someone else's money being spent and you're just executing someone else's vision. But when its yours AND the pressue of being in the WP industry and making sure its not some cookie cutter, seen all the time decor, stationary, and trying to go over the top without an over the top budget.....that's when it can become tasking. BUT I can say over the past year, I have learned a lot about myself. I'm extremely anal when it comes to details. Most of my brides don't care, so I had to step outside of my box with them and realize its not my wedding. Well now....it IS my wedding and those details as important as they are for me, it has driven me crazy. Not to mention a friend of mine is using my photos for a Black Bridal book that she is publishing.....added pressure. LOL
