Am I wrong?

If I don't want a lot of people to rsvp yes to the wedding. Guest list at 250, hoping for 180.  I pushed up my rsvp date.

My mom, my mfil and I will call all rsvp'ed guests two weeks before the wedding to re-confirm all rsvp guests. To cut down on potiental no-shows

I understand how you feel and I wouldn't use the word wrong to describe that, but I think even with a really high decline percentage you're prolly pushing 200.   I'll happilly porchchant with you though:

You're not wrong. Did you invite a lot of out of town guests? If so, 70 Nos doesn't seem too unreasonable. 

Also, we called the people who hadn't RSVPed a week or two before the wedding, and some of them were still like "I don't knooooooow...I'm trying to make it" up until 2 days before. I was like WTH??? Hopefully you don't have that problem.

Probably 200/250 are out of town, but I come from a large African family that loves to travel.

Twin- when are you sending the invites and when is your deadline? I hope to have mine out by the first of July and give them 6 weeks to return it by August 12th. What type of time frame were you looking at?

I see it like this, people received their STD's and even if you didn't send them they KNOW your wedding is coming. You should know by now if you are going to attend or not.

We have been praying for some NO's and so far we've only received 3!!  So you're not wrong I'm thinking the same way you are!

No you aren't wrong. I'll be ordering my invites this week most likely and putting them in the mail by August 1st, possibly sooner but asking for a sooner RSVP because it's a destination wedding. So I'm not as worried about people just popping up that didn't RSVP because if they are coming all the way to Vegas they better make sure they RSVP First! It would suck to be them if they don't...
Just be prepared for those who are going to work your last nerve....because it's coming girl...it's coming...

No you're not wrong! We ALL are hoping for some nos. Officially, we've only gotten 1 no RSVP and a couple of people who changed their "2" seats reserved to "1." 

Miss1J, are you really sending invites out six months in advance?

You are in NO way wrong... girl I PRAYED for no's... and I got them!...I ended up with a good 50 people rsvp'in no.. and actually came in under the count need to have the location.. but it all worked out!
