DIY - Paper

Ok ladies...

Wish me luck...

I have a friend who offered to do our paper stuff BUT she is pregnant so I dont know if she will be able to do it anymore...

So, I think I am going to go out and buy me a program (either Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher, or WHATEVER) and give it a shot.

Can you ladies let me know what needs to be done? I think I may need help...LOL!!!

Also, what is best?
Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher, etc???

I would hate to dish out a nice CHUNK of money to only get the wrong thing...

:(  I don't have any of those programs.  All of my paper was created using my own creative juices (for templates and patterns), Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint (for the invitation).  Sorry, I'm no help.

I want to be able to design things which is why I said I would just go ahead and get a program...they are rather pricey but I know what I wanna do...I had a trial for Photoshop back when I did my grad announcements but I didnt know if there was one better out there...

I use Photoshop as well as Word and PowerPoint (you will be surprise how much you can get out of the last 2 applications)

Many people use Illustrator for design of graphics and Publisher for design of things like programs. I am not familiar with either one so I can't help there...

I used word and Powerpoint and everything looked just fine.

Yep I used Word and Powerpoint for my invites. I think if you are not a graphic designer then the other programs are a waste of money...

I was debating on purchasing PhotoShop myself, but I'm just going to work it out with word and powerpoint.  Good Luck!

I like Publisher because I used it in undergrad for my desktop publishing course.

Maybe some of the ladies that did their own templates and things could download the templates to their wedding bios or on here to help some of the other Knotties out. Just an idea.

I am doing my program fans, menu cards, invitations, table names, basically, all of my wedding stationary by using Microsoft Word.  I am not famiiar with using fancy programs like Photoshop, Publisher and the like.  I left that kinda stuff up to the experts.  Fortunately for me I have a few friends that are graphic arts designers so my monogram and save the dates were created on Photoshop and InDesign by them  I just used a bunch of templates to create the other stuff.  I do have templates on my wedding bio.  I will add my invitation template on there too.  Mandikaykay and YasJas also has awesome template.  I know beause the ones that I have on my website are from them.  :)

I used Illustrator for most of my things. While I used photoshop to help turn my Illustrator files into Jpegs, it was easier to work with (design-wise). The layouts and page setups were much more adjustable on Illustrator.
