Alterations... who did you use and how much did they run?

My dress will be arriving in a couple of months, and I am starting to think about alterations. Who did you use? My dress was ordered with a hem-to-hollow measurement so it won't need that done, but it will definitely need the bust/waist taken in (I'm pretty sure that they ordered the completely wrong size... sigh), and a bustle added. I might also change up the sash. Who did you use and how much did those alterations run?

I haven't used her yet, but will be using Deb Hedeen. I met with her before ordering my dress (no one in WA carried the designer) as I needed professional to take my measurements. (Good thing, I was way off on my waistline!) She was great, I really hit it off with her, she knows what she's talking about. When my dress comes in, I'm going to need a simple French bustle, probably some length taken off, probably some size adjustment in the bust and maybe cups. A non-official price guess that she gave me was $200-250.

I don't have a recommendation for a seamstress, but just wanted to make you aware that even though you ordered with the hollow to hem measurement, depending on how much your waist needs to be taken in may affect the length of your dress.  You may actually need to get it lengthened if they did indeed order the completely wrong size and you're taking in the waist a lot.

I'm using Elizabeth's Bridal Alterations. She is located in North Tacoma, I googled looking for a good seamstress and she was the only one with consistent 5 star reviews. She is wonderful! For a bustle, the sides to be taken in, and the top to be more fitted it cost me about $250 (and my dress has lace that needs to be removed and resewn on, not easy.) She was super nice and very knowledgeable (I sew and so does my mom so I could tell that she did know.) Plus she gets tons of business from I Do Bridal. Highly recommend her. :)

I used Debra Hedeen, and she was great! I think it was $162 to have her make a bustle, take the sides in (it was a size too big), and take the hem up a bit.  Plus, she pressed the dress for me so it was all ready to go when I picked it up.
