Bridesmaid dress cost

Hey girls I was wondering how much are you bridesmaids paying for their dresses?

The dress I originally looked at is $80, but I was watching My Fair Wedding and I feel in love the the concept of the dresses from TwoBirds where its one dress that can be worn 15 days. They are $270, but I look at it as an investment because they can wear the dresses over and over and each time it's like a new dress. My mom and I are going to discuss it later because she thinks the price is a little high.

I think its a big jump in price difference. Your gonna have to run it past the bridesmaids to see  if they are willing to pay that much .I have been looking and trying to not go over $200 which I know my bridesmaid won't have a problem with. I hope.

The dress I picked for my girls is $250. Definitely pricey but I loved it. I felt like it was perfect but I knew that it was probably too expensive. I would have like to get something cheaper.

i love two birds! their dresses are sooo cute. My girls dresses are going to be in the $100 range, considering that i might be buying two of them. My little cousin and my little sister dont have jobs right now, and you know how broke college students are. So I threw my "two birds dress" dreeams out the window. LOL

The dresses for my girls were $175 (including tax and shipping) and I thought that was insanely high and hoped they picked a different less expensive dress. But they all loved it and it was coming out of their pocketbooks, so in the end, it was their decision.

The dress for a wedding I was in ended up being $175 (including alterations) and I still thought that was high. I didn't mind spending a little over what I originally wanted because it was my brother's wedding.

I love those dresses, but IMO, $270 is steep and I'd never pay that for a bridesmaid's dress. Yah I know there is the whole idea that it can be re-used, but do your bridesmaids have special occasions where they need a formal dress? Also, being a part of a wedding party is pretty expensive already (with the cost of a bachelorette party, showers, a shower present, and a wedding gift), that'd be one expensive wedding party to be a part of and I'd probably decline if I knew I had to pay $270 for a dress.

My BM's dresses are around 160 at Alfred Angelo. I think 270 is a little high, and those dresses may be found somewhere else (Victoria's Secret hint hint) for cheaper although they only have certain sizes and colors. Just my $.08.

My BM dresses are only $135 from David's Bridal and they get $20 off the dresses because I purchased my dress from David's Bridal. My girls love the dress because it's a style that they can wear over again (it's a short strapless cocktail type dress).

    Our dresses were $200.

But those dresses are popular now and you can find them on other sites such as Victoria's Secret for a lot less.

My BMs actually ended up selecting more expensive dresses (different designer) than what I was originally thinking.  They were fine with the price.  There dresses ranged from $155 - $188 including a 20% discount.  WHile I dolove the dresses your referring to, the price may be a little much.  I agree with PP, check the web for other companies that offer the same type for less.
try valstefani.com  Prices are not listed, but you could call a local retailer.

My BM chose Two Birds themselves. I thought the cost was a little high but they wanted them and are willing to pay for them. I like the concept and its def worth the price. I want one myself. But just run it by them first or ask them how much they are willing to spend.

I think Two Birds dress prices are outrageous! Victoria's Secret have convertible dresses for like $89. But they are limited on colors.

I plan to find someone that can make them. You can do the same. Here are the instructions:

Or thanks to Cincy, there's someone on ETSY that sales them for a lot less, too:

The dress that 4 of my girls originally picked was $270, but the shop discounted it and was charging us $216 plus taxes. I had some grumbling and actually grumbled a little myself because I didn't love the dress. Everyone was willing to live with it though. I ended up finding a dress that I love and that 7/8 of them love and it is $190 plus tax. I feel better about it and in the end so do they. It's easy to forget how costly things get when you factor in alterations, bridal showers, bachlorette parties, lodging, and transportation. Just run it by them in a way that doesn't try to convince them of anything. Present it as an option. I, personally, would not want to spend that much on the Two Birds dress because even though I do attend formal events periodically, I'd never actually wear that dress to multiple events because although twisted differently...it's the same dress. Just my two cents. I do think though that if it is the dress you love, you should try to make it work...maybe if it is over budget, you could make up the difference for your maids?

The dress my girls picked out from Davids is $145.00. I was trying to keep their cost under $200 for their dress and shoes, but my girls said not to worry about it.  I'm the first of my girlfriends to get married in a while so they want to be just as fly as me.

Ty beat me to it, but definitely check out erinleighheart on Etsy - I got the same type of dress as the Two Birds one for $76 each b/c I bought 4 or more.  My BMs love it and all said they would wear it again!  Good luck!
