sad about the guestbooks :(

so ii was just reading wedding recaps board and EVERYONE was saying how no one ever signed their guestbooks and they were a waste of money. We are going the record and I want EVERYONE to sign,  i plan on framing them and hanging them in the house. I need to find a way to make sure EVERYONE signs! we have a small guest list so i hope everyone doesnt just miss it and forget!

Yea, not everyone signed ours as well. I wish I had had my DJ remind folks or something. You could always have one of your bridesmaids or hostesses in charge of it. This was one of those details that was an oversight of mine. But you best believe, I will be using my guest book as a guest book for when we have house guests..lol. It's a little roller dex type thingy that I used. So if they didn't sign it at the wedding and they attended, they will sign it whenever they step foot in the house. We actually have it in our guest room right now.

We are just having a dinner reception, no dj. Ill have it on the same table as the bordcage where people can put cards and gifts with a thank you for coming sign and then another sign telling them to sign the book.

Awwww, that sucks. I was planning on doing a photo guestbook at my wedding. I thought it would be better than the usual "sign your name addresss and phone number" one that you see in Michael's. I think I'm going to take a page from @rowenac82 and have my DJ remind everyone throughout the night.

I used picture frames with our engagement pics inside. I hung the pens on the frames and put the pics on easles. I had two to accomdate everyone's signatures. Just about everybody signed. I hung the pics up in my family room. They turned out great. I didn't have a DJ either but I placed the easles on each end of the gift table so they would be seen. They worked out great.

That sucks.  After reading this I'm going to have to make sure the DJ mentions it a few times throughout the night.

Thanks for this reminder. I will have DOC annouce this. I also plan to have wedding to do list on the menu that has this task and the hostess to go around and tell people about it. I also may have it around during socialhour.

Mostly everyone signed ours except...Casey!!!!! :-(  We did the photoframe mat signature as well. It was placed before you entered the reception and inside the reception. DJ reminded people. We also did the recipe card box with name, email, address, and special words to the newlyweds. It was placed at every place setting and DJ reminded people to fill that out as well. I loved both of them and have one hanging on our wall. The recipe card box was decorative so it's part of my decor in the Foyer. 

I think you all should do what you intended to do for your alternative guest books. It's always nice to go back and look at it even if everyone does not sign it.

We will have a guestbook at the church and a wishing tree at the reception.. I will probably have the DJ announce something
