Monogram fail

I'm liking some of the monogram cake toppers we've seen -- like [url=http://stacyanddaniel.weebly.com/cake.html]this one[/url]. But monogramming our last names would be ...... "B.O."Anyone else have a semi-embarassing monogram? How'd you deal? Should we just get over it?

Yeah, she wanted to either keep hers or do the "merge our last names" thing like the L.A. mayor, and I countered with the "what if we both take the other's last names as middle names" and that didn't fly. So, we're just sticking with what we've got.First names might work ... we'll give that some thought for sure.

If the brides name goes first, ours would be JBS. I just find the BS part kind of amusing.

What about taking a new last name picked out by the both of you. A friend did that. As for initials, yeah there fun. If our daughter had my last name she would have been KGB.

sigh, ours are JAK. It's not like it's funny or anything, but for some reason it irks me that it spells a name/restaurant/word.Niq - my friend in HS came from a unique last name family. Dad was B, Mom kept her G. First son born would have B, first daughter would be G was the agreement. First child was daughter (my friend) so she had G. Then next child was also a daughter, so she got B to make it fair for the dad. Then third and last child was a boy so he got B. It often took people awhile to figure out why my friend had a different last name from both her siblings. With that weird family configuration, kind of looks like Mom had daughter from a first marriage and they both kept that name. Imagine trying to write a letter to that family though: Dr. B and Ms G and...

KS, that's like my brother and his wife. They flipped a coin to see who's last name my niece would get. My SIL didn't take my brother's last name, either. And so they flipped a coin, because neither one was willing to budge. So my niece got my SIL's last name. And the next baby will get my brother's. UGH. It's so... I don't know. It just feels wrong to me, but it's how they want it (though I know my brother is probably really disappointed).
