Help Needed By An Old School Knottie

Hello lovely brides to be.  I am an old school knottie looking for assistance.  Hello to all of the AAW knotties that were on here with me i.e. Cincy, YasJas, Tyboyd, Tyswife2B, Eagles, among others.  DH and I will be celebrating our first anniversary in June and we would like to take a vacation of some sort.  I know that many of you are in the process of planning for your honeymoon.  Where are you ladies going on your honeymoon?  Did you use a travel agent?  Do you think you can find better deals through a travel agent?  For those of you that are not using a travel agent what are some online sites that have the best deals?  TIA and happy planning.

Hey hun!!! How the heck are you?! I thought about you the other day!!!

I think we are going to go to Aruba! We won a trip there and we have 3 resorts to choose from. We only have to pay airfare. One of the Knotties on here is a travel agent, QueenFromQueenz. HTH

So glad you asked this question.  I'm interested in learnong what some of the other ladies have learned.  FI and I went to a travel agency today and their prices were almost double what I found online.  It may have been that we went to a large chain agency, but if you can find a great deal online see if an agency can match it or beat it.  I think we are going to see if they can match the online deal, If not we are going to book online.

Hey Tam!!!! I have missed you!!! We are thinking about doing the Couple Resort in Jamaica. We are going through AAA. I think that you can get just a great of a deal by going the the website. I hope that you are enjoying the married life! :-)

Anywho, I'm glad you posted this because DH and I are trying to plan a trip for this summer. It's kind of a late honeymoon/graduation gift since I'm getting my Master's this summer. We're thinking the Dominican Republic because they have awesome all-inclusive resorts, but we're still keeping our options open. We won't use a travel agent, but I'm not sure what website we'll book through.

I am no help because FI is keeping our honeymoon a surprise, but you know I had to come on here and say hey! You have been gone on us and I miss you so much! Glad to know that things are well!

Just had a thought though...Negril and Montego Bay Jamaica are awesome and I've heard terrific things about the Dominican Republic! Let us know what you decide!

'Reka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I cannot believe that you had Peanut.  I bet I missed cute pics.  Please, please, please PM me a pic.  I bet she is too cute.  DH and I are trying to work on decorating our house and why do I constantly see coffee shop theme stuff all over the place now.  Everytime I see something I think I wonder if this would look good with 'Reka's coffee shop theme dining room.  That is so awesome that you're getting your Master's.

@ Tam - Yes, they are e-pics. If you remember, I wasn't satisfied with the first set so we got a new photographer and took some more since they were in the package. I will have to dig up the post to show you some of them. As for my hair, I haven't gone back to the relaxer and never will. It's been over a year now. All of the relaxed hair is chopped off, but I really don't know how to take care of my hair without heat so I'm not wearing it yet. I'm getting weave until after the honeymoon. I need to be closer to a great stylist and I have no one here where I live now. My stylist is 2 hours away!

Did you two ever get that vinyl siding for your house?

@ eagles, would you believe that after all of that crap talking DH did about vinyl siding we did not get it yet.  As always, I have to be the one to actually take the steps to get things accomplished.  LOL  I will be making an appointment soon because I do agree that it is necessary.  I figured I would wait until we get our tax refund, but I still want to schedule an appointment for estimates.

Yeah I do remember that you were not satisfied with the first set of e-pics, I'm glad that you found a new photographer...good photography is a must on your wedding day.  My friends and family are still talking about how much they love our pics.  I would love to see your pics because what I see so far is amazing.  I think I'm going to do a search to find them.

That is so awesome that you are totally natural.  I think I remember reading that you were transitioning.  Yeah, I know what you mean about needing a good hairstylist, it does help with natural hair.  Have you checked out any natural hair sites like mop top maven http://moptopmaven.blogspot.com/ or curly nikki http://www.curlynikki.com/? I get a lot of great tips from those sites.  Another one that I like is naturally obsessed http://www.naturallyobsessed.net/. Cincy2011 is on a site called the long hair forum.  You have to pay a fee to subscribe, but it's not that much.  Hopefully these sites will help with your journey.

Yes Tam, Jason and I moved to Cary. I rarely get a chance to come to Greensboro and need to get better at it considering I am still enroll in school there :-(
