BM changes - long but good

So, last night I hung out with a friend of mine and asked if she would like to be my 3rd BM. I've known her for 5 years now, she actually is a GF of one of FI's friends which is how I met her. We didn't really start hanging out until a couple years or so ago, but we get along great and are similar in our viewpoints. I initially planned on only having my 2 BMs, but am really happy to have her as a part of the WP! As for my custom BM dresses, that is being nixed after thinking about it for a while. My MOH's BARELY fit when we got back from Thailand (and that was after she had lost a few pounds between then and when my mom took her measurements) and it now doesn't fit. The dresses aren't very forgiving when it comes to a little excess room. Plus, both were made too long and cannot be hemmed due to the way they are sewn and the embroidery which would mean my girls would have to wear 4" heels. That on top of only being able to take smaller steps...it probably would take them FOREVER to get down the aisle, provided they don't trip. Anyhow, I'm chalking it up to a lesson learned, will take both dresses back from my BMs and will go shopping for a new style for my now 3 BMs. My mom's not happy I'm not using the dresses (plus I want to change the favors), but at this point, I don't care. I will say one thing about this wedding: nothing is turning out like I thought it would!

I'm sorry to hear that, at least you figured this out now instead of farther down the road! Yeah for another BM!

I think you'll be happy with your changes. I'm glad you ended up asking her! She was probably really happy about that! You can totally find bm dresses and you have lots of time. I'm excited for your change.I'm thinking about changing my colors.... I feel the same way about things not turning out how you thought.

It's a bummer that you have to make changes but better to know and make these changes now while you still have time rather than just 2 months out from your wedding.Yay for asking your 3rd BM

At least you still have plenty of time and as long as you are happy that is all that matters. It sounds like she'll be a great addition to the WP. Congrads!

Sorry to hear it's not working out as planned, but that may turn out to be a good thing! I wound up changing from a Spring to Winter wedding, and changing my colors. It hasn't turned out like my original vision, but I'm happy with the results.

Sometimes it's hard when things aren't going according to plan, but don't you find out it usually works out better in the end? I have already changed so much, it's tough finding the balance between fantasy/reality/practicality. (I'm trying to take my own advice with my current flower situation.) And yay for your new BM!

Glad you're happy with your changes. That's what's important. Your 3rd BM sounds like a fun, supportive person. Sounds like a good choice.
