Signs

Are any of you making signs for anything in your wedding? One of my favors is a organza bag with 2 rocks and 2 tealights in it. There's a little poem that goes with it explaining that you and someone significant to you each take a candle and a rock and light the candles together. Carry the rock with you and every time you feel it, think of that special person. Do you think it's okay to put up a cute sign up in front of the favor display with the poem instead of putting a tag directly on the favor bag? Hope this makes sense.

Cute idea for your favor. I think a sign is ok. But there will be people that will grab a bag and not have any idea what you meant with them. What if you put a free vistaprint business card inside with the poem/directions?

Yes! That is a cute idea. I think it would be best explained on a sign rather than on every bag. I think guests would have fun going over to the table and reading about it and talking about it instead of being confused and reading the tags later.

would I be a bad person if I said both?  I like the vista print idea and it's a good point that people might be confused at first.  If you're looking for one less thing to do though, the sign would be fine :)

I am doing two signs...so far, one that says the "fislastname" and "love" I was thinking of doing more but I want everything kinda simple. I love your idea of doing a sign in front of your favors

How big would you make the signs? Also, I'm doing jars of jam too and I'm putting a sticker on them with our monogram and was thinking of putting a sign in front of each flavor so that guests knew which one they were getting.

I'm a big fan of signs that function as labels so people don't have to guess. :) I'm not sure yet if I'm going to do a menu at the buffet table or just make little discreet signs next to each food item. What about a compromise for the both - cute sign, and then a small pile of business sized cards with the poem so that people can take it with them if they want a copy. But you don't have to do one for every bag as not everyone will take one.

Im doing lots of signs... my escort cards are actually leaves hanging on a tree, with multiple trees since we are expecting about 200 people. They will be seperated by Bride's Family, Groom's Family, Friends with a sign for each one. We are doing a plated dinner and instead of printing 200 menus we are printing 2 per table. I am either going to put them in stands like the table numbers or in frames on the table. A sign explaing for our guests to take a picture in the foto booth and insert it in our scrap guest book. A drinks menu sign for each bar.
