WTH...seriously??!?

320 for some damn alteraions. Went to my dress fitting today and went to a mom and pop shop before i went to the bridal shop. To take in my booby area, hem the bottom , and a bustle. I said naw im cool then went to another one they said 290. Got to the bridal shop where I bought my dress from for my appt. they said 170. Them alterations aint no punk. Geesh.

Then I was planning on going thru cardsandpockets for printing my invites. They gave me a quote for 98 for all that I need to be printed on a color paper called cream puff. So I asked for a quote for a pearl metallic paper they said 125. I said ill keep my original quote. They tell me well its now 125. I went off and cussed them ppl out. They trying to get over. They said well that was an estimate without looking at my files. I said why give me quote for files that I sent you that you didnt look at. That was the whole purpose of me sending you the files. Big sigh. So now im looking for a print company. Smh.

  • Yep. I've heard that alterations can cost a pretty penny.   I am fearing the cost of mine because I know there's some serious work needed to be done on my gown.  UGH!

Can your print them yourself? I printed our on our home printer. If you want to use mettallic paper, you can print it at officemax for pretty cheap on one of their laserjets
  • I was thinking about office max too because I really do like the metallic paper. So im going there this weekend. I gotta get this done already. Ugh.
  • Oh hell to the no! That's expensive. Glad I don't need alterations.

I said the same thing babe! Cheapest Ive found for my $160 gown was $285 in alterations...pulling in, raising the front, zipper repair and a bustle........i have an aunt who maybe could do it because shes made and altered a lot for our fam but my mama insisted on me going to someone professional to avoid any possible issues........

  • Wow! That's alot of money for alterations. I swear they mark stuff up by 75-200% because it's for a wedding! And those Cards & Pockets ppl wrong for that. Shame on them.
