Rant: still upset that the wedding budget had to be cut in half (no raise and low pay to start with).  Struggling with figuring out costs especially for cake and flowers.

Rave: my FI is very, very supportive as is my family; though they can't help finacially, there are emotionall supportive which is wonderful!

Rant:  I feel like there is still soooo freakin much left to do!

RAVES! : FI and I mixed some tracks for the recessional and reception entrance last night and they are awesome!  We got our first official wedding gifts on the doorstep.  I've managed to get ahold of my AWOL vendors finally including our officiant.  Things are looking up!

Sharing our love---what's up with cake and flowers? do you know what you can afford to spend on them?

I could give you some recs. Our cake baker is pretty competitive for rates.....Kelli's Cake Creations.....and she is a board favorite. and she knows it....which is why she gives seattle knotties a 10% discount. Also, I have a 20% off coupon of hers from the seattle wedding show...i could maybe mail it to you. 30% off is a pretty good deal. I also know of some other cake bakers that are affordable I believe...and potentially cheaper. You could pm me your cake budget and I could try to help out. or just tell me here....if you're comfortable with that.

Also, have you considered silk flowers? Look at afloral.com .....lots of knotties really recommend them and they are really great reviews on their website too. Most say that their guests didn't even know they were fake and when they found out were asking to touch it....They even have some pre-made bouquets all for less than $15. and....there is a coupon code i know too that will give you 10% off your order...can't remember it off top of my head. This is where I intend to buy my flowers. No way I can afford the normal floral bill! Plus I want orchids and calla lillies which are THE most expensive of course.

Great News about the officiant Macpanda!!!!!!!!!

Rant: Super stressed about money.......FI doesn't really work ever.........because he does remodels....and no one has money to remodel! He has been trying to look for a new job...but can't find any. Imagine that! Also, in about 7 weeks, I HAVE to quit my job because I start student teaching........soooo....if he doesn't have solid work by then we are totally screwed. Super stressed about paying off the wedding. Very worried we wont be able to pay for everything in time. We have already had to tap into the money for normal things because of his lack of work. AHH ..............but staying positive!!!!

Rave: We are meeting with an officiant Sunday that seems promising......Mike asked a groomsman! only two to go......I think I have landed on a decision for my BM's......just still a lil unsure.

Sharing our love--the bakery we are getting our cake from is very affordable and she is super nice and easy to work with.  Her name is Robbie at Creative Cake Designs (she is in Kent, I don't know where you are located, but she is delivering to Tacoma for us).  Here is a link to her site http://www.creativecakedesigns.com/
We have a tight budget and large group and she recommended using a sheet cake to get more for our money.  Hope that helps!

Also, we are going to get the bouqets from a florist but put the center pieces together ourselves with flowers from Costcos--they have gotten really awesome reviews.

Rant--FI's mom just got out of the hospital but is not feeling as well as expected, I feel so bad for her and for FI :(  We have been helping as much as we can but it's been really hard to balance everything.

Rave--It's Friday and hopefully we can sleep in tomorrow!!

Thanks for the ideas on the cake and flowers.  Our wedding is on Fox Island so am looking for someone who can deliver there.

We have looked at silk flowers for the church aisle and are doing candles and shells for the reception tables.  Mainly it's going to be WP flowers and a corsage for my mom.  My budget for flowers and cake went from $500 each to around $100-150 for flowers and $250 for cake for 150-200 people.  We are looking at a sheet cake with so many people, but then also want a tiered cake, but only 2-3 layers.

Rant: Uhm, I'm gonna be a math nerd for a minute: I'm beginning to loathe my current math class: Data/Statistics. It's not too bad, except, how can we do Algebra 2 stuff when we haven't taken Algebra 2? Thanks Seattle University. Thanks. (Background, I'm getting a math endorsement on my teaching certificate. I'm not a math nerd by nature.)

Rave: We are in the final stretch for the wedding... only about a month to go! So much still to do!

Sharingourlove-----found a few cake places for you.

http://www.gayleorth.com/index.htm ------this is a caterer. But she does cakes. I'm not exactly sure the prices, b/c it doesn't say. But I found her because she is on the exclusive caterer list for a fox island venue. So I assume that she is in the Gig Harbor area....and wont charge an insane delivery fee.

    here's a fox island florist too --- http://www.weddingsnw.net/index.html

Cakes by Tiffany----no website, but here is her wedding wire page---she is close to fox island and recommended by some vendors out there. http://www.weddingwire.com/biz/cakes-by-tiffany-port-orchard/01a1b3a95d8cf076.html

Destiny Cakes is another low-key baker out of Tacoma. She was recommended to me by my DOC. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Moon-Maiden-Design/127537109862?ref=share#!/pages/Destiny-Cakes/110973798916223?v=wall

    Hope those help!
