The Final 3 (Kinda long) PIP

in African American Weddings
Hey Ladies FI and I need your help! I've been scouring venues for a year and FI finally put his foot down and we are choosing between these 3 venues. For some back ground I'd like a vintage styled wedding (think Idylwild the movie) and I want in a different venue. Our ceremony will be on the beach and the below selections will be the reception venue.

Help us choose!

Venue 1 Ringling Museum:
Pros: 10 mins from the beach, breathtaking
Cons: Most expensive







Venue 2: Powell Crosley Mansion
Pros: Cheaper than Ringling, beautiful , 10 minutes from the beach
Con: No back up space! In case of rain we'd need a $6000 tent






Venue 3: Safety Harbor Resort
Cons: 25-30 minutes from the beach, just a hotel
Pros: Cheapest

    I really like the Ringling museum. I've seen pics of weddings done there and it is absolutely gorgeous and unique. Powell Crosley is beautiful. FI and I considered it but decided against it because of the same con you listed. Something to consider is how far your guest will be traveling. Are they flying into Tampa? Our guests would be flying into Tampa and the drive is far. So we had to rule it out. I've seen it where people managed to keep everything inside but they prob. had less than 50 guests if even that much. We loved the views and that it was on the water but rain is quite unpredictable in Florida. #3 looks pretty.

    For these venues they also have preferred caterer lists so I would try to find a cater that is willing to work with you before selecting the venue. HTH

    I think #1 fits the vintage vibe you are going for best.

    If you have the bucks, then #1.  Otherwise, I love #3 and the water view is gorgeous.

    Thanks ladies! 1 and 3 are the real contenders here. I love, love , love,#1.

    Chescam our guests are all OOT and will be flying into Tampa but if we decide on either Sarasota venue we'll be blocking our hotels and centering our events there for the weekend. Its not ideal for them but I really love those venues and their proximity to the beach without the crowdedness of Tampa
