Am I being cheap??

I intend on buying FI's wedding band in the next few days.  I've gone into Jared a few times and noticed some nice rings for FI, a couple were tungsten for about $250 and up.  The other day I went into JcPenney and noticed the SAME rings for $95!!!  I don't want to seem like I'm being cheap when it comes to buying his ring, but $95 sounds a lot better than $250....lol  What price range are you staying in for your FI's wedding band?

If the ring is the same...Go for it. You could also get a Tungsten ring for less than that. There was a promotion for men's rings, if you used the promo code  "brides" you got a $250+ ring for free, just paid for shipping.

Anyone know if that is still going on? I already got FI his ring but I forgot the website.

Nothing wrong with that at all.  Especially if it is the same ring.  I remember the deal Carla is talking about but i can't remember the website.

We got a deal from Blue Nile (certificates for $150 of jewelry for $75). After that, we went to JCPenney, and FI saw a ring for $70 or so that he really liked, and he just said the other day, "Can we just get that one?" 

I guess that's just how it goes. If the ring is the same, why pay more? 

So nope... you're not being cheap at all. The fact that you're even questioning yourself is more proof that you're not!

Lucky you! My FI picked out a damn 1 carat band and emailed it to me....le sigh...He works for the governor so he won't need two rings but damn this ring is like &1700....I wonder if I can find it at JCP or Bluenile....hmmm..I may take my but to the Goldman in New Orleans and get his ring LMAO! He would kill me though

Thanks for the support & advice ladies!!  Guess I was feeling kind of bad for buying his at a much cheaper price than he's paying for mine.  But what he doesn't know, won't hurt him...lol

Great topic! I had the same thing on my mind. FI saw a ring he liked on JVL where we can spend 25 or one he saw in the local jewelry store for 395. I asked him would he feel cheated and he said no its saving money but I still feel some kind of way

I got my FI his ring from JVL.However they no longer have that promotion any longer I was going to give it to a co worker and it does not work.

The code FINALLY expired in Feb. I was trying to buy B a new one. But I found him a Tungsten ring on eBay for like $15!!! Why pay more when you can pay less?! lol<div>

Girl, why pay more if it's the exact same ring? It's like buying cereal at Tops when you can get it at Walmart for $3 less. I say go for it!

I spent a little over $500 on FI's ring but that was just the best price we could find after 60% off and tax.

I agree with PP's.. if you can get the same ring on sale.. go for it!.. my FI's ring cost me $300... if I was able to find it somewhere else for a cheaper price, then Lord KNOWS I would've gotten the cheaper one.. nothing wrong with it!

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking advantage of a sale. I spent 2000 on H's ring and I had a promotional coupon for %15 off anything in the store.
