    You should be more specific.

What are your details, how many guests, budget, time of year, etc....

What you're asking is pretty vague.

I'm getting married in Barbados, but it tends to be one of the more expensive islands. Only marrying there because FI and my whole fam are from there. Jamaica isn't known for it's safety, but if you're mainly on the resort and practice basic travel safety (i.e. No flashing jewelry/money) you should be fine. Hope that helps!

Jamaica does have crime, but as daniadron states, excerise basic travel safety and you will be fine.  I have had a few family trips to Jamaica with the latest being this past summer, and our group of over 30 were safe.

We walked the streets of Ocho Rios and visited the Margaritaville there and partied with the residents.  There were quite a few wedding during the week we were there.

I attended a destination wedding in the D. Republic which was very affordable. I would assume that as long as you are on a beautiful beach you can have whatever decor you want....Jamaican, Latin, Haitian, etc. Just find a caterer that will cook the food you want and a DJ that will play your favorite music.

Once I went to a party at a lake house were they decorated the entire place as if we were in Hawaii. Had the pig roast, lanterns and everything, You couldn't tell me I wasn't in Hawaii for the night. LOL!

    Edit: Forgot to say (((WELCOME)))

I don't have any advice either.  :( Sorry. But I also wanted to say welcome!!

ETA: I do like Carla1019's suggestion about decorating your beach location in whatever vibe you're trying to achieve :)

Im having my wedding in Nassau Bahamas and in addition to the nightclub that is located on our resort, we found a few nightclubs in the Nassau/Paradise Island location where reggae music is played.  You might want to check there.
I been to jamaica a few times and we always stay in Montego Bay and always walk to downtown instead of catching cabs and we have always been safe (by the grace of god) I think crime is everywhere you go but I do understand what you're talking about.  Congrats and good luck on your search!!!
