The Wedding Menu

My favorite part of the wedding is probably the decor and food. I love the good food and prepare myself for eating later when there is bad food. Anyways, let us see your menus for the big day ladies. If you've already had your wedding, post that menu too. Cocktail and reception menus and.......GO! ;^)
What are ya'll serving?

Good Lawd, can I come to your wedding?  I will fly to California for that menu!  Your guests will be eating good...who is doing the donuts and ice cream?  The caterer or an outside organization?  I have to find my menu and I'll post it soon.

Cincy we are renewing our vows and about 70% of the guest list is coming from out of town, so we're actually hosting a weekend but only for about 80-100 people.

Haagen Daaz is doing the ice cream catering. They were extrememly affordable. They were even cheaper than the caterer doing it. I almost threw the money at the lady when she quoted me the price. I didn't want her to get a chance to change her mind.
The donuts are also not done by the caterer. It is by a local company who just does this stuff for events. They just specialize in making mini donuts. LOVE IT!

I got an all inclusive package with my venue and they offered a standard menu at a really affordable price and I just threw the menu out and upgraded the whole thing. I do not want anyone stopping at In and Out on the way home.

I've been to 2 different receptions where they ran out of food. The most recent one was like 3 years ago and we are STILL talking about it.

Also my husband was a chef for years, so.....

Not at all!  It actually sounds really tasty and you were being very considerate when you thought of your guests and what they would like.  It's important that you provide good food along with good music, etc. so they will definitely have good memories of your menu!

Girl that is the way to do it, I want to be like you when I grow up!  LOL!  I would love to have a big anniversary celebration several years from now.  I will definitely look into Haagen Daz b/c our local hometown ice cream company here in Cincinnati is crazy expensive for an ice cream bar, so I will look into it!  I definitely wanted to do something sweet for guests for the later part of the night and ice cream would be great.  I am a donut fiend, so I can only imagine how awesome the made to order donuts will be.  I wish there was a place here that did that!

Playgirl, what kind of signature drink are you thinking about?
I don't drink but I do like to hear what others are drinking.
  • edited December 2011

FH & myself are really not drinkers either.  Mostly mixed drinks & he likes rum & coke. FH doesnt even like beer.(OMG right?) We are thinking of having  blue & purple martinis & calling them  "Blue Wedded Bliss" & Purple Passion because of our wedding colors. The problem is we are worried that everyone might not like them (mostly guys) so we are also thinking of a full bar.

    Playgirl,
A nice middle ground would be a beer and wine reception with a signature cocktail. That would cover everyone and be less of an expense than a full bar.
