So against some peoples advise I printed up about half of my programs (ran out of ink mid way) yesterday.  I thought nothing at all had a chance of changing since everything is going absolutely perfect with bridal party and all other areas. So I just did it. I want to be done DIYing at least a month prior to the wedding so I can really enjoy the last bit of engaged life. I had all the materials and thought why not.  Well now I know why not. My FMIL called me this morning saying FFIL asked for a divorce yesterday?!?!? AHH! He is not only trav's dad (step dad but....dad) but also a groomsmen. OMG what do I do? The programs being printed arent the only prob here.

    WOW! wasn't expecting that!! Yikes! Is your FI still going to have him as a groomsman?  I dont know what you should do about that! Good luck!

    i wouldn't do anything.. print anything, throw away what you have.. anything until you guys have it figure out..

    interesting... was this something that was in the works, or was this a bombshell on FMIL? ditto sarack, don't throw anything away, or print additionally until you know more details.

    Umm.....wow.  I agree with Sara - hold off until you and FI talk it through.  I'm sorry - that's one heck of a bomb for them to drop on you guys!!

    I'm really sorry, hope FI is handling it ok. Yes, wait on programs etc but do you think he's going to step out of the wedding? How long have they been married, ie does FI think of him like a dad? My dad is thinking about divorcing my stepmom, and they've been married since I was 9 so I do think of her as a second mom. If they do get divorced before the wedding, I'd still have her involved (if her health allows it) because of my relationship with her.

    Not that anyone can help it, but certainly not the best timing. I hope your FI is doing alright with this. Lots of unneeded stress at this time, that's for sure...

    oh man talk about drama.... i agree with everybody about just hanging tight until this works itself out a bit.  Hopefully they don't pull u guys into and give u added stress.
