Venue Question

Ok ladies I went to look at the venue that we loved online right. When we pulled me and my friend agreed the out side was nice pretty green grass nicely cut well maintained. Loved it. So we go in the entranceway was cool and then we walked into the ballroom and it didnt WOW me. It was ok I mean  there is alot of space to work with and I can pretty much complete my whole vision in this room but I don't know. So then there was the courtyard which was nice as well im just stuck on the ballroom.

So my question to you ladies is should I be worried about how it looks bare or just focus on the fact that I can work it however I want to? Also how did you know your Venue was THE ONE?

Personally, I think that once everything is dressed up you will be "wowed'.  I don't think I've ever been impressed with any empty room.  I could see if they had the walls painted a weird color or it had hideous carpeting or something like that. Or smelled like a urinal.  But if it was simply...plain, I wouldn't stress. I'm sure your vision will come to fruition and you'll be pleased. HTH

I know how you feel. I went today and looked at a venue also.  Ask them if they have any pictures of the room set up for a wedding and that may help you see the space in the type of feel that your looking for.  Also is this the first venue that you have looked at, cause when me and FI started looking at venues the ones we were sure we would love were the ones we said that were ok and today I wasn't sure if this venue would do it for me but got there and she showed me pictures of it set up and seeing it made me go yeah this could really work.  Are you stuck on doing a ballroom so that it can be inside or is the courtyard something you would think about?  Go with what is in your heart for a venue don't settle cause you think you have to.  Make sure whatever you choose has everything that your looking for and that you can work with to make your day what you have in mind.

I'm hosting my reception in a hotel ballroom. It didn't "wow" me - even with pictures of other weddings. The walls are maroon & beige and the chandeliers are large but not particularly modern. It was average - but the hotel is in an ideal location, prices were right, and the property is gorgeous! (I know you're thinking my wedding will be busted. LOL). We did up our decor budget and we'll have the entire room have uplighting. So my long-winded point is this: pick a venue you love overall. If you love the property but can work with a plain ballroom, go for it! Check out prices for the decor elements that you may want and go from there!

Thanks for the feedback ladies. No this isnt the first venue we have visited but this is the first one that I have made a second appointment with to take my mom and cousin "the planner" to visit. The sweet lady Ms. Penny did email me some pictures of a wedding on 8/7 and it was really nice and I also googled the place and found even more. It won my heart because it  showed me that the space can be made to do what ever you want it to do and also Fi is throwing ideas out so he must really like it. Its everything I want and the price is even better and knowing what my cousin can come up with im confident this place won't let me down.
