    I know this is the new trend but I am staying in my dress the whole time.  I figure I am paying a lot of money for this dress.

    1. I LOVE my dress
    2. I dont want to spend money on a second dress
    3. This is the only day I am going to be able to wear my dress.
    4. People expect to see a bride in a wedding dress. Wear the cocktail dress to the rehearsal dinner.
    5.I LOVE MY DRESS! LOL

    I considered it, but I fell in love with my dress from the moment I tried it on. Plus I couldn't afford a second one.  But if you do go for a reception dress, do something wow.  You don't want to look like a guest at your own wedding.

    I thought of doing this but decided to stick with the one dress.  I love my dress and I want to look like bridal until the end.

    I wore a reception dress.....it's the one in my siggy pic....First, I LOVED my wedding dress, but I definitely wanted to WOW my husband by wearing a sexy reception dress. That totally surprised him and the guest, because they were not expecting it.......the only person knew I was changing were my parents and sister!!! Plus, I didn't wanted to waste no time for my husband and I to get busy once we got to our hotel room! I had our room staged with things like the hot tub bubble down, wine, chocolates, rose petals, etc.... (yes I grown that night) LMBO!!! So having him go through the time/ process to help me take my wedding dress off was a "NO NO" for me....LMBO :-)))) Plus, I got married in Arkansas which is still hot in September!!! I had second thoughts about changing, but when I found that dress I knew I made the right decision...Out of all our wedding pics my husband thinks the ones of me in the reception dress it meant for him only!!! LOL {men}

    I also thought about doing this. I found a dress that I fell in LOVE with. Two things deterred me from getting it though:
    1. Like someone else posted I love my gown and had it made from scratch. After all that I want to get all the wear out of it that I can.
    2. I couldn't find the reception dress anywhere near me to physically try it on...I couldn't buy a dress sight unseen and just pray that it looked as good in person as it did online.

    Honestly though you could probably find a nice dress for not too terribly much...especially since prom season has wound down...you might be able to get a dress in just the color you need for a great deal. Happy Hunting!

    I love my wedding dress but it will be TOO HOT in Vegas so I will be changing dresses. I have been having my eye on 2 different ones so I will be choosing soon.

    This may sound nuts, but I plan on getting a 2nd low priced dress just as a backup. I am so afraid of spilling something on my gown...or just any other unforseen accident...so I am not intentionally going to change, but if I need to I want to have a back up.

    I kept my dress on ALL NIGHT. I had thought about getting a reception dress, but I thought about it & decided that my beautiful wedding dress deserved more attention than just 30 mins. I'm glad I made that decision.

    If you do get a reception dress, definitely get one that is WOW and not just "another dress".

    I am not a proponent of reception dresses unless it is your culture to do so.  However, my grandmother squashed any thought I might have had on changing my position on the issue.  She told me that she hoped I didn't change my dress because she did not wait her whole life to see me wear the wedding dress for 1 hour. Besides, she wants to take pictures with me at the reception in my wedding dress and not some other random dress. After she put it that way, I could never consider changing.
