RSVP Wording {Edited}

I will be using our website {and maybe phone} to RSVP. So, I'm wondering, how to word that. How do I let them know how many seats they have? I just need help.

TIA

Edited: Now I know how they will know how many ppl they can bring. How do I put how to RSVP on the card?! lol. What wording do I use?

    Do you plan to use double envelopes? If so, on the inside envelope, you would list the names all of those that are invited, or designate "guest". Now if you are using just one envelope I don't know how you would do that.

    One envelope. The RSVP card will be in my fold. {Not a pocketfold, the book fold.}
  • edited December 2011
    I addressed the names on the invitation and on the website I explained to please limit the guest number to the names that were addressed on the invitation. I also setup a RSVP voicemail through googlevoice and I basically stated the same thing on the voicemail. When they called the number a message played with me explaining to limit the guest number to the names on the invitations and then they were able to leave a message. I liked the voicemail because I didn't have to worry about people calling my cell with RSVPs.

    Oww, Ash, I never heard of that! But now I want it!

    About the envelopes: What if they have a plus one, but you don't know the dates name to address them?

    Yep! Go to http://www.google.com/voice and you can set up your own number and voicemail for free! And when someone leaves you a voicemail you'll get a notification by text or email...whichever one you select during setup

    And with my plus ones...I just put Mr. John Doe and Guest and when they RSVP'd they just included the names of their guest either on the website or on the voicemail. I hope that answered your question lol!

    LOL glad I can help out! But it was really helpful because I didn't have people calling my cell at all hours of the night trying to RSVP. I mainly did the website for the younger crowd to RSVP and the voicemail for the older crowd. Can't beat having your own wedding phone number and voicemail for free!

    I wish I'd known about the google number. I used my home number as an option to RSVP (for the older crowd who may want want to mail the card back!) but that's OK because I never answer it anyway......

    i pretty much had my wording on my invitation like admallard stated. it was small and i didn't feel like wasting money on a card folk might not mail back. we didn't have a wedding website so i listed my number as the RSVP number. maybe half of them didn't RSVP anyway.

    Just ask them when you're sure they will get a guest. This is what I did...only because I hate being referred to as "and guest". Some people don't mind though...you know your guests.

    Stamps are freaking expensive when you add it all up! When I did my first round of invites and people weren't sending their cards back because they didn't know they had to I was heated! I was harassing people on the daily including my BP

    Thanks for the google voice thing cause I will definitely be using it!

    I wish I had used the voicemail thing but ah well...

    as far as wording on how many person(s) your guest can bring I would say

    ... *blank* number of seats are reserved in your honor. Please RSVP online at ...or at this number...

     I hope that helps.
