My Vent of the day! Kinda long....

Soooo...i told y'all previously about the photog that wouldn't send me the email with her info, all while updating her FB status CONSTANTLY that day right?

I first contacted her Monday about her services, she didn't email me back in a timely manner, so I had to hack my nieces page on Facebook in order to send her a message and see if she would respond. Well low and behold, she did and said that she would email me back later that day....she DIDN'T! So I emailed her late morning tuesday just to follow up, she sends me an email back from her iPhone saying she would get to me ASAP and that she was sorry that it was taking so long and the reason was b/c she had just quit her job to pursue photography full time ....no big deal, I completely understood that...HOWEVER, if you are running a business, getting back to potential clients is a MUST!

Today is Thursday, I have yet to hear from this chick, YET AGAIN, she is constantly updating Facebook with random crap!!! ARRGGGH!!!! (this FB page is her BUSINESS page) I'm looking at other folks comments saying they have emailed her and ....you guessed it!!! She responded right back to them saying "yes, I got it. I'm eating lunch and will email you back shortly." There are also random comments about her having to put her pics back on the wall in her home because they fell off!!!! WTH!?

I'm to the point where I don't even wanna work with her WHENEVER she gets the notion to email me! I just don't do business that way! Yes I understand you quit your job and all, but come on? Really? you weren't THAT damn swamped! I really wanted to work with her because she is relatively inexpensive compared to others and she does awesome work, but damn Tito! You could at least follow up with a playa!

Well, there's a very inexpensive photographer here in Houston {my photog}. I'm sure she'll travel. She's very responsive and AMAZING!!! Lori www.savvycouturecreations.com

Yeaaahhh. at this point in time i'd go with somebody else. try her photog above or search craigslist. There's a bunch of new people just starting off in the business and willing to do it for dirt. My friend actually got hers done free through some guy on craigslist who was just starting.

EDIT!: I'm editing this because on the sticky post there are some wedded women that give advice and they're all saying don't skimp on the photography/videography. But if you're on a budget, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Yeah... I think you need to move onto someone who's going to follow up. The extra that you spend (and hopefully it's not much) will give you a lot more peace of mind.

This stalling may be a sign of future things to come. There's a reason you can't get a reply and I would take that and run. You dont want to be chasin her down 2 weeks before te wedding or after because she hasn't responded with pictures. I'd keep it moving.

girl do you know i've never even looked at your home city.   our shutterbug is the bombschnigitty.com  his name is francis, he's in Austin.  I know for a fact he'll go to Dallas, because he's coming to Newark lol.  On his blog you'll find a tab marked personal, under his own bachelor party video are the comments of his friends, one of those friends also has a photography business which he runs with his wife.

Girrrrlll..honey chile ! I was going thru the same thing with the orignal photog. I would post on her wall, inbox her and she should just would not respond but will be on FB talking about nonsense like most ppl do on FB ! So I just forget it, like you she does great work but is inexpensive. The photog we picked now is the bomb.com. He is on point, he cost a little more but he's including all day service, a website, a album and disc and a e pic session. The other was only giving 6 hours and a book, anything else was extra. So I say save yourself a headach and find somebody else we don't beg for ppl to take our money !

Just a mess!! Ya I would have crossed her off the list a long time ago. I can't deal with a lack of communication especially from a business. This is the reason why we didn't have the photographer who took our E-pics do our Wedding pics. They had terrible communication in getting our e-pics back to us. So once I got the e pics back I cancelled with her for the wedding. And I'm so glad I did! I love our wedding photographer!
