Re: Honeymoon

  • We went to Riveria Maya for our honeymoon and I would recommend it to anyone. Do you know which resorts she as in mind for each of these places?

Believe it or not although I loved Riveria Maya, I would actually recommend Ochos Rios if you have never been. Hubby didn't want to go cause we are both from the caribbean and Jamaica seemed too close to home and we wanted to do something different. But when I visited, I thought it was excellent. Great beaches if that's what you want! Food is excellent....

Cayman Islands was a stop for us on a cruise, very, very americanized in my opinion but if you are looking for a smaller island, this would be your pick.

Dominican Republic, never been but I have heard good things and I am sure the other ladies would be able to give you feedback.

  • DH and I honeymooned in DR and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it but doubt I would ever want to go back. But out of those locations I would pic Ocho Rios...but only because i'm a foodie and love the food and beaches there more. Cayman Islands is beautiful but I find it to be more secluded and a lot more expensive for food and shopping. We're going to Mexico next week so I have no opinions on there yet.

She didn't mention which resorts yet. We're going down to TN for Thanksgiving so I'm gonna get more details then. It's goona be my first time meeting some more of his closer relatives. Wish me luck ya'll I'm soo nervous. I've met his dad, stepmom, and grandmother but not the rest of the family. But, his dad is excitied we're coming so I guess that's all that counts.
