But I think I've found the photographer I want to shoot our E-pics.  She said its $200 for a 2 hour shoot with a CD of all the edited images.  So does this mean we have the rights to the images as in we can reproduce which ever ones we want?  Also are there any other questions I should ask before booking her?  Thanks ladies and sorry if I sound so clueless..

HMMM I think so. I wondered the same thing. Most photographers say a CD with all images and full rights to reproduce them. I always believed that was the ability to print them through a third party company (like snapfish or something) and they wouldn't have a logo on them...

maybe someone else will chime in... boards are usually slow on weekends..

Its not a dumb question at all. I asked my photog outright and she asked if I put them on site like a blog or FB that I put her credits on them but all of the pictures on the CD were free for me to use however I need

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one that was confused by this.  Thanks for the info.  I better shoot her an email just to make sure we are on the same page.  To be honest with you I personally didn't have to have E-pics seeing as how we are having a really small wedding (less then 10 people) so we don't need the pics for STDs or anything like that.  When I asked FI why he wanted E-pics, he responded uhhhh for Facebook of course

Great, I'm hoping this is the case with her.

What do you think about the $200 price for 2 hours, does that sound pretty reasonable?

The price is great IMO...the copywright release means you can do whatever you want with them...for example with our epics I took them to Walmart for printing and they asked for the copywright release before printing them....I also had the same issue with snapfish for our enlargements so you will need the release to print....

Other questions I would ask are what is the turnaround time for the CD....will she be editing any of the pics if so is it extensive or just touchups.....

Thanks so much for your help ladies.  So I emailed her last night and she said that the pics are edited and are the same edited versions which appear on her website which IMO look great.  She also said we have the rights to the pics and can get them printed wherever we like, although she does offer prints if we want a high quality but we aren't obligate to purchase through her.  With that being said I think we are good to go for E-pics on October 30.  Another item crossed off my list.  Thanks again for your input ladies.

I would also ask if the images on the CD are high resolution. If you're printing on your own you'll want the images to be high resolution. Also, if you're concerned about pricing, you can ask her if there's a discount for the E-pics if she's also doing your wedding photos.
