HELP WITH INVITATIONS

Hi Ladies,

I need some inspiration for invites. I was going to get my invites done in Nigeria but due to my growing budget, i can not afford to and would like to get them here or even purchase a DIY kit and do it myself. I just can not afford to spend 600 on invites anymore. My colors are Purple and Ivory (my accent color is YELLOW).... I can not seem to find any invites on line. I just need a starting point. If any of you can suggest someone that help you with yours, that would be great.

Thanks
Mrs-Flawless-Pitts

cards and pockets have DIY kits, you can also try David's Bridal if you are familiar with these stores.  they have things on line. Also try American Wedding and Exclusively Wedding...those are some places I checked out when deciding on my invites...hope this helps

I would start off by googling "purple and ivory wedding invitations". I'm not sure what style you are looking for but I'm 100% confident you will find one.  Here's one of the sites I came across when I googled it. http://www.zazzle.com/purple+wedding+invitations

Everything that pp said but also try out Etsy. You may find an invitation you like and the vendor can create it for you in your colors or maybe you can find someone to make a custom invite.

I have to second the American wedding (theamericanwedding.com).  I got beautiful invitations from them and didn't come close to breaking the budget (I've gotten a lot of compliments from my guests as well).  One thing though: keep in mind that invitations with pockets are way more expensive and cost a LOT to mail...

We used www.indianweddingcard.com and people LOVED them!. They have a GREAT variety. AND the prices include printing!

And don't be discouraged by the name. It isn't all Indian invites. They can add whatever symbol you want on the cards for free! We added a cross in the place of the other symbols.

    Here:s some purple invites: http://www.indianweddingcard.com/weddingcard.aspx?type=designer

I second zazzle.com. My bridal shower invitations came from them and they were SO cute.  I would have looked at wedding invitations there too if I had known about it beforehand. Definitely would have saved some money....

I used paperandmore.com for the card pockets and designed the invite, accommodation and direction cards myself using publisher.  This site has a fabulous purple (our colors are two shades of purple..I used the purple and love it!!)  The color is called ruby purple under mettalic.
I designed our RSVP as a postcard to save on postage and having to purchase RSVP envelopes..  FYI- It cost 66cents to mail each invite.  I also used purple Swarovski crystals on the invites from Michael's using a 40% coupon.  We sealed the cardpockets with a wax stamp and placed in envelopes.  Lots of compliments and ppl were very surpirsed when I said they are DIY!
